The issue is that people don't believe me.

By putting in the work and having your end goal and being very strategic.

You can take your hobby (Not your passion. Not replacing your band at all.) and show people that your amazing at it and then after a while of producing content and "proving" that you are good at this.

You can start selling a product...

What most businesses and bands focus on is 100% of the "fun" stuff or "the reason why we started this" and don't focus on the reality of what moves this thing forward and the foundational elements that will keep you around for decades.

Taking the time to work on your business is just as important as working for your business. Making sure your business is running smoothly so you can focus on the other side of things. aka...The fun stuff and why we got into this in the first place.

I love doing these challenges.
It takes everything we have been learning in past episodes and I actually challenge you to start putting everything we have been talking to into action.

Don't just skip this episode or just decide not to do this.
Don't make excuses because of the holiday.

This is where we get off our butts and actually start making progress and grow our bands!

When I met a band that is taking the "None Traditional" route of having a band it gets me stoked. If you have listened to any of my past podcasts you will know that that's the side I focus on.

I truly believe that we should not be doing the same things are "heroes" did in the '70s..

That's exactly what Marked:Life is doing and what their whole approach is.

I was literally blown away when I heard their accomplishment with OUT EVEN PLAYING A SHOW.

They have been strategic from day one with EVERYTHING they have done anddddd it is paying off.

The idea of "Instant Gratification" is serious!
It will literally always trap you and you will be insanely bummed when you decided to release 
- Your album
- New Tour
- Show that isn't in your home town
and it doesn't do well because you decided to release it without actually any marketing and you didn't tell anyone..
OR WORSE
You rushed the recording process and cut corners and it doesn't compete with the pros and you get left in the dust.

This stuff happens every day and it literally hurts my heart.

and always take a step back and make sure it's done right.
Definitely don't want to miss this one!

It literally BLOWS my mind how much this happens to me.

You get a friend request on Facebook and RIGHT after you confirm...They ask you to like all 5 bands they are in.

THIS DOES NOT WORK.

I had a blast on this podcast talking to the dudes over in the band fairwell as they passed through Flagstaff AZ on their most recent tour. These guys are so passionate about the music it gets me stoked about the next generation of hardcore.
Also, their live show is insane.
I'm pumped to see where these guys go and I was very honored to have them on the podcast!

I had the opportunity to sit down with band No Home from Seattle Washington while they where on their No Sleep tour in beautiful Flagstaff Arizona. I had a blast hanging out with these guys and talking about their band and how they are growing it. These dudes are killing it and I have to say I'm blown away on how they look at their band and the mindset on how they look at how they release their music and how they are investing in their band.
Later that evening I watched them play at The Hive downtown Flagstaff.
