We need to stop measuring our self-worth with social media

32m · Published 26 May 16:33

Being on social media websites can be helpful for our businesses and for staying connected with loved ones, but the longer we spend on these networks the more our self-worth gets tied to them.

We've realized over the years how swept up our decision-making can get with social media metrics. Even on this episode, we talk about not posting more "real" moments because they don't match the curated life we want to portray.

We definitely don't have all the answers when it comes to NOT measuring your self-worth on social media, all we know is that it's a slippery slope and we need to tread lightly. We need to acknowledge our behaviors, our choices, and force ourselves to take breaks from always being connected to social media.

How we got rid of our bad habits

33m · Published 19 May 21:00

When it comes to getting rid of bad habits the first thing you need to do is acknowledge them.

So often we go through life not changing our ways because we're ashamed of some of the choices we make and don't want to deal with adjusting our behaviors. But, like many things in life, when you do the hard work you come out a better person because of it!

We're not going to pretend we've gotten rid of all of our bad habits (ahem: Caroline's clothes pile and Jason's limited patience with all other drivers on the road), however, we have kicked a few bad habits to the curb and talk about how we've done it.

💡 We didn't mention it in this episode, but James Clear wrote THE book on habit change called "Atomic Habits" and you can grab it here: https://amzn.to/30wlf14

🌱 We DID mention the healthy meal prep company we love and it's called Thistle. This is NOT an ad, but if you want to get $30 OFF by trying them, use our affiliate link: http://bit.ly/jasonthistle

Simple ways to add more thoughtfulness to your life

29m · Published 12 May 15:18

We're all guilty of thinking of ourselves before thinking of others but in this episode, we want to challenge you to add more thoughtfulness to your daily life (and business!)

How can you be more considerate of the other humans around you? What SMALL change(s) can you make that might cause a positive ripple effect for someone else?

In this fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in our daily grind. Take a moment to step outside yourself and see if you can break a bad habit or two. The world would be a much kinder place if we were all just a bit more thoughtful.

And hey, we're also talking about thoughtfulness when it comes to your business: Actually putting yourself in your customer's shoes and seeing if you're delivering a THOUGHTFUL experience to them.

🤔 QUESTION: In what way can you be more thoughtful in life or business? What habit or process can you change?

Slow and steady wins the race (but it's HARD)

30m · Published 05 May 18:10

It's really easy to hand out business advice and platitudes when everything is going well (as the person giving the advice). Sure, slow and steady does win the race, however, it can be difficult to fight your urges to go faster!

What do you do if things are going slower than you want with your business?

How do you deal with feelings of wanting things to grow faster and smoother?

In this episode, we chat about Caroline's zoomed-out view of how we're all constantly running around trying to do ALL the things ALL the time. Jason shares some of his doubts and concerns and they work through them by taking a step back and looking at the entire picture over the course of the last year with Wandering Aimfully.

🤔 QUESTION: Are you in a "slow and steady" part of your journey? You have some upward growth but it's hard to not want things to move faster?

We're taking a short break...

5m · Published 17 Mar 16:41

Hey friends! We're taking a short break from podcasting to avoid burning out. With Caroline's health stuff (see the previous episode) and an impending move, we knew something had to give in our day-to-day/week-to-week lives.

Don't worry, this break should only last a few short weeks while we recharge our creative batteries and get to make our new home our own!

We appreciate your support and love and we'll be back before you know it.

An extremely honest conversation about anxiety

1h 5m · Published 04 Mar 03:46

This episode will be a bit different than the rest as we share Caroline's story in dealing with anxiety. It's something she's been confronted with for years but recently it hit her extremely hard, to the point of feeling she couldn't even get out of bed for weeks on end.

We wanted to have an honest conversation about how it feels to go through a mental health issue and talk about how it affects our relationship, work, and more.

Our goal with this episode is that it helps anyone with anxiety or depression feel some sense of hope and that you are not alone.
