49m · Published 27 Jan 15:00

Raise your hand if you are desperately seeking more time?

More time for you. More time for work. More time with your kiddos. More time with your partner. More time to be creative. More time to take a bath. MORE TIME!! I just did market research for the upcoming program I will be launching in the spring   and the overall consensus was that momprenuers (and moms in general) want more time. They are looking for ways to maximize their energy so they are more present with their families and tactics that encourage them to be more efficient with their time. Another big challenge mompreneurs face is knowing WHAT TO DO during those available blocks. There is a difference between being in motion and being in action. So if you’re looking for new ways to get your shit done, this podcast episode is for you. Beyond talking about HOW to get more time we talk about setting boundaries, asking for help, & managing your mental health as all these flow together.

Here are some of the things you’ll learn about on today’s high:

  • Your mindset around time
  •  Understanding where & how you spend your time
  • What’s priority & what’s not
  • Why setting boundaries & asking for you time are so important for mommy mental health
  • Making a habit scorecard
  • Creating a morning routine and why having one is so essential
  • Multiple time management tactics
  • Ways to maximize your energy
  • Permission to practice self compassion and grace while building your biz
  • My upcoming coaching program

I am so excited for you to listen to this episode- they are all methods I’ve tried myself- Leave me a review on iTunes with how this EP impacted you...and while you’re listening to it- tag me!

Managing Your Mental Health with Medication During Pregnancy & Postpartum with Dr. Francie Broghammer

50m · Published 14 Jan 15:56

Am I allowed to take medications while I’m pregnant or nursing?

And if yes, which ones are safe?

If I’m taking medication for my mental health before I get pregnant do I have to stop?

Did you ask any of these types questions during your pregnancy or postpartum journey?

I know I did.

I wrote my OB about pretty much everything from TUMS to Tylenol.

Today on the What Nik Knows Podcast, Dr. Francie Broghammer, Chief Resident in Psychiatry at UC Irvine Medical Center, walks us through managing our mental health with medication during pregnancy and postpartum.

Here’s what you’ll hear on today’s EP:

  • Female mental health is different than male mental health due to our hormone fluctuation throughout our lifetime
  • Women are 2x more likely to experience depression than men
  • 90% of women have the baby blues after birth
  • If you’ve experienced anxiety/depression prior to pregnancy there is a higher than average chance that will represent itself in pregnancy & postpartum
  •  Strength alone does not allow you to heal your brain any better than healing the broken bone in your arm
  • How SSRI medications work
  •  How taking medication can help you do the things that actually encourage self care, exercise…all the things that take you from baseline to flourishing
  • Breastfeeding and medication

And so much more!

I have 5 seats left in the upcoming Strengthening Your Motherhood Mindset workshop- it is on January 27th at 4pm. Reserve your seat now!
