Probably a below average episode. The first half has a little pop screen nonsense and then something that can't really be construed as anything other than agism. But you know, ehhhhhh. The song is probably the oldest thing I have recorded from one of my earliest bands, HiLo. There is a LOT of HiLo that went unrecorded, which breaks my heart. And then the disgusting finale of Taint Misbehavin' which ends in exactly the way it has to, really.

13. A Touch of Gray

This is one of my favorite things I've ever done. My favorite things I ever did with the show were to fuck with the show. This, the Slenderman arc in the beginning of season 2, the finale, all stuff I'm really proud of. So, the first part I consider to be pretty impeccable. The song in the middle is the first track on the last Metroids album, which again, I'm really into. Then we have the 2nd part of Taint Misbehaving, which I do like, but it's sort of lazy. I did these extended 2nd bits, that didn't require writing, when I wanted to do more ambitious first bits, I think. In either case, I really like this episode.

12. When Taints Misbehave

21m · Published 28 Dec 02:11
Fun episode! As a porn enthusiast, I notice a lot of things about it. Like how it's god damned ridiculous. The first part is about that. I threw in a song from my song-a-day project from February 2008 that eventually made it to my short lived but well loved band Joystick Joy. Finally, we have the first of a three part bit wherein I interview my friend Steve about a ghastly experience he had. Trivia! This wasn't meant to have a sequel where he interviewed me as I have had a similarly terrible incident.

11. Songs One

An unconventional episode in which I play a bunch of songs.

10. Greasy Tasty

25m · Published 10 Dec 13:00
There are only a couple episodes I think are relatively uninspired and this is one of them. Why didn't I title this episode starchy wad? Anyway, I'm not crazy about the first half of this episode. I have some barely informed opinions about food science, some of which I stand by, some of which I don't, especially in relation to my current dietary restrictions. Time makes fools of us all! The song is from a little EP that I did, one of the first things I recorded while living in Portland and I'm a big fan. The second bit is probably going age really poorly and might be a little hard to follow. My wife at the time was watching a whole lot of Miami Ink and L.A. Ink, which I think is more or less bunko, even by the standards of reality TV. And I'll watch some reality TV, as long as it contains treasure hunting of some kind. But these shows bugged me with it's thuggish attitude and obnoxious characters. Further, the rotating cast of people looking to get tattoos were selected based on how sentimental and tear jerky their ideas were. So, I threw together a bunch of characters into a sort of beerslam: Behehehndrehndehendehenen Ink. Most of the shop characters don't appear again, probably because I felt uncomfortable about doing foreign accents. I did, however, draw a picture of Mutaro that is terrifying.

9. Parenting

The end bit is probably why this episode is so well thought of. It's one of the first really produced things I've done, it introduces a character I'd go on to use, and it's batshit insanity was at least somewhat natural. The Brain Camp sketch was inspired by a note I wrote to myself that said, I shit you not, "paint turtles on breasts to keep kid away." It's also inspired by the absolute terror of live action ninja turtles as featured in the We Wish You A Turtle Christmas video. I had a serious laughing fit with my friends Brayton (of The Pitch) and Jeremy after watching this nonsense. Check it out!

8. Noisily Devouring a Still Beating Human Heart

Positivity, rap, and commissioned songs.

7. El Debarge with Bears

19m · Published 19 Nov 13:00
The first part contains some whining, complaining and ranting. The song in the middle is something I'm pretty proud of and that I'm unable to remember how to play, which is ridiculous, but it's true. The real meat though, is the end bit.

6: Dippy Crust No No

21m · Published 12 Nov 03:06
And here's the second part of my probably very cruel animalization of homeless people. I wonder if history will judge me harshly? It doesn't matter though when we have such delightful treats. Brayton is back with his performance as Dr. Brace Grodin. We've got my favorite song by my band [The Midnite Snax][1] and we have yet another fakey interview, this time with a full song from the Hobotown musical. 5: The Bindle Suite

Pre suitcase technology

Here we have several firsts for Dead Idea Valhalla. In the first half, we have my first guest spot with my very funny friend Brayton playing a noted Hobologist. (his voice is a dead on ringer for ST Joshi)

This interview is continued in the next episode, making this the first two part segment.

The 2nd segment has the return of two characters from my former podcasting life and the first of my greatest hits style lists of song choruses. The sound quality isn't perfect but I always loved those.

Also, the song in the middle is a personal favorite. I'm pretty into this episode!
