Meanwhile, Dan raised the woof and watched the bizarrely fascinating Air Bud Presents picture Pup Star: Better 2 Gether.

Episode 293 - Thor Ragnarok & Robert

1h 33m · Published 08 Nov 06:00

This week on the podcast, Casey is out of town and so Dan and Greg hold down the fort in his absence by checking out Thor Ragnarok and Robert respectively.

Is the former as big a home-run for the MCU as we have all expected? How does the comedy layer-into the superhero-action? Does a blue rock steal the whole show? Dan will let you know.

Then, Greg checks back in with the director of "Amittyville" Asylum with the first of apparently many Robert the Doll horror films, called - as you may expect - Robert. Does the lackluster direction and acting entertain as much as previous pictures from the director?

And does anyone mispronounce the most important word in the title / script? Greg finds out! Plus, we listen to some awful music from Robert Plant.

Finally, before any of this, Dan and Greg dive into the news about Disney potentially purchasing 20th Century Fox. Also, we discuss movies such as Good Time and Antonio Banderas' action-movie output, dive into some Great British Bake Off, and so much more!

Episode 292 - Paint It Black, IT & Hack-O-Lantern

1h 24m · Published 01 Nov 05:00

This week, on our day-after-Halloween special, we dive back into the world of Stephen King off the top of the episode as we look at The Dark Tower and circle-back on Gerald's Game. Then, we discuss a number of horror movies that you can watch - even in the hangover of Halloween - and other movies and television shows we have been watching and enjoying this week. Does Casey like Stranger Things Season 2? You will find out!

In Film Roulette, Dan watched the feature-debut for director Amber Tamblyn, starring Alia Shawkat and Janet McTeer - an adaptation of the Janet Fitch novel of the same name. Also, speaking of circling-back, Casey got to check out IT - which Greg and Dan previously reviewed - and he weighs in. Finally, Greg saw the low-budget American horror film HACK-O-LANTERN - directed by Indian-born Jag Mundhra - of Open House and Night Eyes. How many strippers appear in this movie randomly? Will there be multiple music-video diversions? And will somebody please get their head cut off by a pitchfork??!! Greg will let you know.

All of this, plus a punishment album review, and much more.

On our latest episode of See You Next Wednesday, Greg and Casey picked their own movies for Film Roulette! Greg head out to the theaters to check out a brand-new horror flick - Happy Death Day! Does this slick, comedic time-loop horror live up to the high expectations of its October release? Greg has your answer!

Then, Casey boots up Netflix and watches The Meyerowitz Stories - is Adam Sandler's performance really Oscar worthy? He'll let you know, before Dan sighs uncontrollably and watches the non-MST3K version of 1995's Werewolf - a thoroughly boring werewolf movie with the most unambitious title ever.

Finally, they all light-up and get Stoney with Post Malone.

Before any of that, we discuss the movies we've been watching as well as some horror picks for October, Nick Kroll's Big Mouth, and so much more.
