Beyond The Nonexistent Box

When Bob and Shona met, it was clear they were creating something special. Their whirlwind courtship had them sharing their vows and building a life together in unexpected ways.

Marcus Fung is a Chinese born Canadian living in Treaty 6 territory Amiskwacis Waskahikan, later known as Edmonton, Alberta Canada.  His parents immigrated from Hong Kong and his parents had left China for various regions including fleeing the Communist regime.  

He grew up seeking to belong and know his potential.  That lead him to some coming of age misadventures and would pave the way for the work he would immerse himself in later.  As an uninspired and restless teenager, he discovered psychedelics, then meditation afterward.  After discovering meditation, he relinquished all use of psychedelics. He also felt there was something out of balance in the world.  He went on to study with different healers and medicine people.  He found himself apprenticing in the Amazon working with traditional healing plants, and Ayahuasca.    

He thought he had found the answers to his questions and focused on his training to help support people in their journeys. Last year, during his training period, he found himself in a nightmare he could not escape.  He had a 6-week psychosis where he became very ill, sick and hospitalized.   Since then he has been piecing his life back together - searching the clues he had gathered in the last 40 years as to what makes a life truly worth living.  

He has served his community as a facilitator, bringing the joy and uplifting power of music, drumming, rhythm, singing and dancing to many people who might not ordinarily enjoy these things.
