The short answer is, baby steps! Of course, you should watch what you eat, stay hydrated, and train slowly but surely. After getting myself a new pair of running shoes, my journey began. I kept a daily log of my progress along the way. What about you? Are you ready to lace up your shoes and start running? SUMMARY: - The idea is to walk for 2 minutes, jog for 1 minute, and repeat that over and over again until your jogs hit the 30-minute mark. - Foods that fuel running include bananas, oats, peanut butter, broccoli, plain yogurt, dark chocolate, whole grain pasta, potatoes, and coffee. - Sore today too after that insane gym sesh. I guess that’s just gonna be a regular thing for the next month. - My trainer suggested cycling as cross-training, so I went on a 3-mile bike ride. - My energy levels are through the roof! I no longer crave afternoon naps. - I weighed myself today, and I’m down 5 pounds! I’m convinced jogging is the fastest way to lose weight. - I jogged for 10 solid minutes today and didn’t struggle at all! I’m getting there! - My trainer told me to be extra careful to stay hydrated. He said to divide my body weight in half, and then drink an ounce per pound. - I guess exercise improves your complexion because it boosts blood circulation. - My trainer showed me how to use a tennis ball to massage any problem areas. I do it to the bottoms of my feet, too. - Listening to music while jogging helps the time go a lot faster. - Lots of bananas. A Japanese Method to Lose Weight Using Only a Towel

The method takes five minutes a day, and you need no equipment. If you apply this method correctly, your spine will become straight, and your body will get in shape very soon. Also, your internal organs will be placed in the most favorable positions for them. SUMMARY: - Take a towel and tightly roll it to make it 15 inches (40cm) in length and 3-4 inches (7-10 cm) thick. - Sit down on a flat hard surface. A soft bed or sofa won’t work – it's better to use a fitness mat on the floor. Put the rolled towel behind you. - Gently lie down on your back holding the towel so that it is across your body directly under your waist. Exactly under your navel! - Spread your legs shoulder-width apart and bring the feet together making them look in-toed. Your big toes should be pointed toward one another. Your heels should be 8 to 10 inches apart (20-25 cm). - Straighten your arms by the head, turn them palms down, and connect your pinkies. - Now all you need to do is hold this position for 5 minutes. - After that, stand up gently not to hurt yourself as your bones and joints slightly move during the exercise. - Your hands, legs, and the towel should be in the correct positions. - It's difficult to hold this position for 5 minutes in the beginning, so you can perform the exercise for 2 to 3 minutes. Shiatsu differs from other types of massage because its only movements are pressing certain dots on the face. It is mostly performed by Japanese women and perhaps that’s the secret of their beauty and youth. We at Bright Side became interested in this type of massage that is becoming more and more popular around the world, even though it’s only officially been recognized by Japanese medicine. An everyday Shiatsu massage will take only 1 minute. It should be performed in the morning, in the evening, and whenever you feel that your eyes are tired. SUMMARY: - Start by placing your index, ring, and middle fingers on these spots respectively. Using medium pressure, push your brows up back to where they belong. - Place your index fingers on the outer corners of your eyes, warm this area up a bit, press, and release. You can also pull the muscles towards your temples ever so slightly without taking your fingers off. Just make sure that it's the muscles and not your skin that you're pulling. - To reduce this swelling, place your index fingers on the area between the inner corners of your eyes and the bridge of your nose. From there, make perpendicular movements. Be careful not to stretch or move your skin – this can lead to more wrinkles! - Put your index, middle, and ring fingers together between your brows on the area that’s also known as the “third eye.” Press this spot for about 5-7 seconds. - Put your index, middle, and ring fingers on the bone under your eyes and press lightly for 10 seconds. Repeating this exercise 2 times will do the trick! - This massage actually originated from anma, the Japanese style of massage that dates back to 1320. Shiatsu was based on a deep understanding of anatomy, the secrets of Tibetan medicine, and the ideas of traditional Japanese medicine. - This 1-minute massage kick-starts the body’s natural rejuvenation process, quickly erasing any visible signs of tiredness and aging. - Qi is basically your vital body energy that takes care of your system's functioning. It flows in specific pathways called meridians. - The task of a Shiatsu practitioner is to access the Qi by putting pressure on vital points on your body, find the blockages and imbalances that are causing your health problems, and restore the energy flow back to normal.
