Hospital and Community written applications for SP, OT and Physio

8m · Published 19 Aug 05:04

I thought I'd share some learnings taken from my own experience with the application process as well as the advice of some most excellent guests on the podcast...written applications for hospital and community jobs can be a sometimes frustrating process. It is made easier with a bit of planning prior to job season and of course always keeping in mind the person on the other side of your application...

A reflection on physiotherapy after 6 years: locuming, rugby and the 4 day work week with Chung

14m · Published 09 Aug 01:47

A big thankyou to Chung for a great reflection here on physio after 6 years –  Chung has taken the road less travelled and has private practise and aged care locum experience under his belt. He introduced me to the idea of locums in the beginning and is a friend I often catch up, compare notes and run over ideas with. Some great thoughts here on working in professional sport, longevity and the 4 day work week, best moments in physio and of course locums…

Talking person centred care, interdisciplinary learning and common interview questions with Thomas Bevitt

29m · Published 14 May 11:09

Really enjoyed chatting with Tom who is a senior lecturer and OT at the University of Canberra. I found this talk of great reassurance - Tom is a unique lecturer in that he often posts graduate opportunities on facebook and is active on twitter with his discussions around his research on patient focused care (as opposed to service focused) and interdisciplinary learning and teaching...

Tom has some great ideas regarding future changes to OT and Physio programmes on how they assess students and he has also sat on multiple hiring panels in the public health system and gives some great advice regarding interview preparation and common interview questions for public health jobs ... A great talk from a much admired educator at UC! Check out his twitter here ... https://twitter.com/TcBevitt
