Have a go at preparing a 2-5 minute answer to the following interview questions commonly asked in grade 1 interviews....1) Tell me about your clinical experience in this area of adult communication disorders / or padiatric speech and language disorders. 2) Can you tell me about a time that you worked as a part of an effective team, what worked well and what didn’t? 3) Can you tell me about a time in particular that you managed conflict in a team? 4) How would you deal with differing perspectives towards a therapy plan. 5) Can you provide examples of when you were able to demonstrate your ability to be flexible with your schedule. 6) Can you tell me about a time you worked with someone from a culturally and linguistaclly diverse background? 7) Why do you want to work here? New graduate hospital and community interview debrief with Claire

A big thankyou to Claire for debriefing over her interview success which helped her to land a job at a competitive hospital and community last grad round. We talk about the process, her part time work experience as a student which she talked about at interview and some good techniques to answer interview questions such as - How would you manage conflict with a colleague? I jumped on the GYC podcast recently to talk about my experiences locuming and discuss why locums are a great idea for early career Physio, OT and SLP’s. A big thanks to Jack O’Brien for hosting a great podcast!

Private practises wouldn’t necessarily be very keen on attracting locums but I think locums offer unique opportunities to get new people to a clinic in a way which is career building and is win/win for everyone involved…

Whilst at university we identified a need for interdisciplinary learning and built a student network across 3 different universities with students from 11 different health disciplines and held multidisciplinary learning workshops to network and improve our own MDT learning skills.

Here we talk about how to do this for current health students and also talk about why it is easier to be a medical student than a physiotherapy student and the current challenges of being Dr's 3 years out...
