The Everyday Bag Experience - Now with more useless pockets
34m · Published
Geoff discovers Guyβs fascination and revelations on the careful balance of utility, durability, aesthetics, and business drivers behind your everyday bag design. This is [likely] the last exploration episode of single-topic products/services before we begin a new run of more design-topic centred episodes.
Highlights include:
π‘ Is designing the βperfectβ bag actually the fastest way for manufacturers to go out of business?
π‘ Why is there a difference between bags seen in stores and what people are carrying?
π‘ How do bags both afford and constrain our everyday experiences?
π‘ Do aesthetics or utility spark more joy for consumers?
π‘ How might bag designs be future-proofed for ever-changing tech?

The International Arrivals and Departures Experience - Forms, Forms, Forms
38m · Published
Geoff and Guy both acknowledge and lament the challenges in getting airlines and international travel "back to the way it was", particularly in regard to all the extra security and forms being required to arrive or depart a country. However, let's all ignore the fact that this episode is being released 6 months after it was recorded together in person since many of the discussed restrictions have now been lifted - timeliness is not our strong suit, but the points are relevant nonetheless.
Highlights include:
π‘ When and where should you choose to make your customers wait?
π‘ Whose responsibility is it to complete all due diligence requirement checks before departing?
π‘ Can proactive communications to set customer expectations actually be harmful?
π‘ What role can we as passengers play in driving the change we want to see?

The Web Browser Experience - Surfing without an Edge
43m · Published
Geoff and Guy return to talk about web browsers without even once saying "surfing the web" (so of course it had to be squeezed into the episode title). From checking emails to watching videos and purchasing products, we use these ubiquitous tools multiple times a day, so we thought they deserved a deeper look and a moment to consider why we arenβt readily seeing if a different one would better meet our needs.
Highlights include:
π‘ What do we miss out on by being complacent with what we're used to using?
π‘ Should we be more exploratory with our everyday tools?
π‘ What's the easiest way to try out a new browser?
π‘ How can the digital products and services we make be improved by us trying out a different browser for a week?

Highlights include:
π‘ What do we miss out on by being complacent with what we're used to using?
π‘ Should we be more exploratory with our everyday tools?
π‘ What's the easiest way to try out a new browser?
π‘ How can the digital products and services we make be improved by us trying out a different browser for a week?
