Episode 107: How To Be Ambitious And Reclaim Your Time All At Once, With Fab Giovanetti

46m · Published 26 Oct 06:00
Given Fab Giovanetti’s enthusiasm for life and her passion for reducing ‘busyness’ you can see why we just had to get chatting! She’s the founder of Creative Impact, a collective of hundreds of creatives making a positive impact on others and the planet. She’s also a keen speaker, writer, and published author, with her latest book ‘Reclaim Your Time’ published in 2021. In this episode you’ll hear more about her journey into business, what some of her biggest lessons from the pandemic have been, and how she continues to cultivate her own joy. We talked about focusing on what you’re good at, how to balance your stress, and why it’s okay to be ambitious along the way.

Episode 106: Mastering Stress And Doing Things Your Way, With Lily Potter

45m · Published 19 Oct 06:00
Today’s guest is someone who I look to for inspiration for self-trust, strong boundaries and a consistent willingness to learn. Lily Potter is a health coach, ‘inner mammal’ trainer, teacher and mama. She’s navigated all sorts of challenges and joys of life from healing infertility and acne, through to divorce and starting her own business and everything in between. Lily’s curiosity for understanding the depth of life has given her this strength and commitment to change that is so unique (and inspiring!). She now teaches her clients how to build in healthy comfort habits and to develop stress mastery (which still includes the reduction of stressors and management techniques) – helping them to feel at ease and have a sense of freedom. We get into all sorts of topics in this conversation, from how to develop ‘stress mastery’, through to self-trust, and overcoming feelings of shyness (particularly when they’re keeping you small) and so much more.

She is also training to be a Functional Nutritionist as well and will be able to help her clients solve complex physical and mental issues regarding their digestion, mood, chronic illnesses, autoimmune disorders etc. Going through a health crisis can also lead to stress mastery when faced with a curious and open mind. It takes grit to get through and I will be combining my work around stress to further support people on their healing journeys.

Episode 105: Anxiety As A Great Messenger, With Jennifer Bronsnick

37m · Published 12 Oct 06:00
I could have recorded multiple episodes with this week’s guest and not run out of things to talk about. Jennifer Bronsnick is such a beautiful example of someone living and breathing her work. Having been through her own anxiety journey, and trained in multiple tools to support herself and others to come back to a place of resilience and self-confidence. Her toolbox ranges from integrative therapy, through to human design, mindfulness-based therapy, and more. In this episode we talk about busyness (and what to do with it), how to keep resetting when things get too much, listening to your curiosity, and how anxiety can actually be a great messenger. Can’t wait to hear what your favourite takeaways are!

Episode 104: Rewriting Your Stress Story And Finding Your Flow, With Nicky Rowbotham

45m · Published 05 Oct 06:00
When I asked Nicky what brings her joy in her life, she said she’s all about “magic, moments and memories”. What a beautiful way to stay centred through change, stress and transition. In this episode we dive deeper into Nicky’s journey, how she found herself creating journals and writing a book whilst working full time in a completely different field, and what the stress of her corporate job has taught her about coming back to joy. We talk about: ‘fulfilling’ versus ‘full on’; tired versus depleted; and owning your own struggles in order to be free.

Episode 103: Doing Grief Your Own Way, Motherhood, And Trusting In Your Journey, With Hajni Erdelyi

46m · Published 28 Sep 06:00
Hajni Erdelyi says the work she does with her clients is to help them to peel back all those layers of the onion, to connect in to the truth of who they are—and so much of that has to do with embodiment. For me, every time I speak with Hajni I feel like I discover a new layer, as if her onion too is peeling before me. 😉

On the surface she may present as a Physiotherapist who knew quite early on that she wanted to work with the body. However it was turning points in her personal rather than her professional life, that really shaped the teacher and empowerment leader she is today.

We talk about her transition into motherhood, loss and recovery from grief—and how her processing and digesting of her own trauma has led her to a deeper place to lead her client’s through their own empowerment journey. We also talk about the power of getting to know your body, including experiencing that wild part of you.

This is a story for any woman who has ever felt out of touch and is ready to reconnect with themselves.

Episode 102: Backing Yourself With Bite-Sized Habits, With Dr. Heather McKee

47m · Published 21 Sep 06:00
Dr Heather McKee’s fascination with human behaviour began from a young age. Combining with her love for being outdoors, grew into her interest in health sciences, and led her to resign from a solid job, step out of her comfort zone, and go out on her own!

She wanted to understand why well-intentioned people with all the resources they needed couldn’t stick to their healthy habit goals! So, she sat down with each person in the clinic to understand more about what was holding them back.

Heather is now a leading lifestyle behaviour change specialist—supporting businesses to design exceptional, long-term, wellness programmes that deliver on positive health outcomes. Having studied health behaviour change psychology for 10 years, her mission is to offer a sustainable, evidence-based alternative to an industry saturated with quick fixes and health fads.

And she has some good news to share with you about creating healthy (lasting!) habits in your life. Hint: It’s does NOT need to be hard.

We cover:

•Why intrinsic motivation is best;
•Why goals are only a snapshot and what to set instead;
•Creating super small and achievable steps to success; and
•Following your inner joy.

Episode 101: The Magic Of You, With Laura Jane Jones

1h 4m · Published 14 Sep 06:00
For the first time ever we have a second-round interview with a guest on the Let It Shine Podcast. And in some ways, Laura Jane Jones, requires little introduction. I rave about her and her work all the time, particularly if you hang out on Instagram with me. Laura first shared her story in Episode 43, and how she started tapping into her creativity as a way to manage change and stress.

Fast-forward around 12 months since that conversation and so much has evolved for her! In today’s episode we get into the juicy details of how she published her first book (the fun bits and the hard bits); what she teaches her kids in class that all adults should learn too (my favourite part); and accessing a sense of certainty from within. I can’t wait for you to tune in and share with us both your favourite insights.

To celebrate 100 episodes, I’m doing something a little different today! I’m sharing with you some very real-time emotions, lessons and ‘messiness’ from a few months of big life changes. You’ll hear how I’m processing all the feelings (and why that’s a big deal), and the give biggest lessons I’m starting to integrate into the transition. This episode is for anyone who has ever doubted a big decision they’ve made in their life, feels stuck (in their job, in their relationship, in their life), or is moving through any kind of change, big or small. Episode 99: Getting Stubborn About Your Joy (And Why It Matters)

19m · Published 18 May 06:00
Are you as committed to your JOY as you are to your deadlines, keeping your boss happy, and taking care of those around you? In today's episode I'm sharing the importance of getting stubborn about your joy and why it matters. For so many of us our inbuilt autopilot reaction is to choose hard work over ease, drama over joy and pain over pleasure. However when we can get to know and embody our joy on a deep level it can actually give us all the support, and fuel to move through our biggest challenges. It's time to flip your priorities and practice your joy.
