Episode 80: How To Consciously Create Connection And Community In Your Life, With Special Guests: Genevieve Parker Hill, Ruth Poundwhite And

1h 7m · Published 22 Sep 11:20
Today we’re joined by three of my mastermind buddies and we’re talking about a topic that means a lot to us all – community.

From Genevieve Parker Hill having moved countries every 6-12months, to Ruth Poundwhite running her own business straight out of uni (on her own), to Willemijn Maas making a career move from working in psychiatry to the online business world—their experiences of the need for connection and community couldn’t be more different!

And yet, we all came together with a core longing and intention. We wanted a place to feel seen and heard. We all needed deep conversations.

We’ve been in our mastermind group for almost two years and are constantly sharing voicenotes with each other about how grateful we are for having a space like this. 😉

Here’s some of what we talk about:
- how to refine your process for creating community over time
- why it’s okay to outgrow people and move on
- online versus offline connections
- the reason we all believe our mastermind has been so successful
- handling feelings of loneliness

What a way to wrap up the grand finale of Season 4 of the podcast!

Episode 79: Systems For Creating More Ease And Joy In Business And Life, With Kate Northrup

54m · Published 17 Sep 06:00
Have you got shiny object syndrome? Or maybe you feel like you need to be always-on to get ahead in your business and life?

There is another way.

One that allows you to optimise your energy, make better decisions, and increase your capacity for joy.

Today’s guest has had a profound impact on how I show up for myself and my business. Integrating her cyclical tracking and #doless systems took me from a state of scattered and unsure, to decisive, confident and consistently energised in my business (and life).

Kate Northrup has built a 7-figure business multimedia educational platform, written bestselling books, and even created a “Do Less” ecosystem, from her Do Less Planner, to her programs and Origin Membership group.

However it wasn’t all easy, nor did it come with a very “do less” way at first.

She shares in this episode how she went from “playing business” and wanting to “look” successful, to being grounded in her body and expanding her capacity for ease, joy, and success.

Here’s what we talk about:

* how Kate approached business when she first started out (age 18)
* the turning point she had, and what she had to come face to face with
* what overgrown ferns can teach us about energy and success
* questions to ask yourself when feeling overwhelmed
* how to do priority things on days when you really don’t want to
* better ways to handle uncomfortable moments in our lives
* the power of preventative scheduling
* and so much more!

I love Kate’s super practical, honest ways of optimising how she wants to feel in her life. She’s on a mission to support ambitious women to light up the world without burning themselves out. And I’m so excited to introduce her to you today.

Kate’s offering her most valuable free experience, Right Thing, Right Time—where you can learn her exact system for cyclical energy tracking, so you too can change the way you relate to work and time forever. I’ve signed up already, and you can too at www.thedaisypatch.co.uk/kate.

Episode 78: Using Joy As Your Anchor To Care For Yourself, Lessons From Joy Clubbers

57m · Published 15 Sep 09:30
I had tears pricking my eyes and my heart was swollen after this recording this conversation.

The three women you will hear from today have had varied experiences of change this year. From adjustments in running their own business, to managing experiments in a lab through lockdown restrictions, being furloughed from work, and reconsidering if now really is the best time to resign.

Dima Mekdad, Daniela Nofal and Halima Salim joined Joy Club when it was birthed earlier this year with nothing more than a short voicenote from me saying “want to come together and focus on joy with all this change going on right now?”.

And I love how eagerly they committed to coming together in community, without even really knowing what it would look or feel like.

They continually showing up for themselves, to being curious about change no matter how uncomfortable it feels, and to honouring a practice of joy in their lives.

I asked them to come and share some of their “joy journey” and what their experience has been through Joy Club.

We talk about:

* the difference between joy and happiness
* how joy changes and evolves over time
* what listening to your body can give you
* self care versus productivity
* their favourite ways to connect back into joy, no matter what kind of day they’re having

Episode 77: How To Choose Joy When You’d Rather Have A Tantrum

17m · Published 14 Sep 06:00
After a false start when I forgot to hit record on a 40min episode, I was at a crossroads. I could stomp my feet and cry. Or I could make another choice.

This episode will inspire you to choose joy, even when you’d really rather have a tantrum instead. 😉

I share the importance of welcoming in all your emotions, why joy is not just a “nice to have”, and why when you’re starting out choosing joy could feel a little clunky.

This is an ideal time of year to take a moment to reflect on how you want things to be. There’s lots of change going on, globally and in our own homes right now, and it’s also literally a seasonal change. Times of transition require us to be more intentional.

Instead of falling into overwhelm and stress, it’s time to choose joy. Let’s hit that reset button together.

Episode 76: Thriving Through Change And Finding Your Heart’s Work, With Lauren Armes

54m · Published 08 Sep 06:00
For someone who has built a highly successful business into the definitive voice for the business of wellness, you might expect today’s guest to have always known what she wanted, or at least have had an elaborate plan to create it.

Yet Lauren Armes, founder of Welltodo, is quick to share that getting to a place of doing her heart’s work didn’t come quickly.

Lauren spent the early part of her career undecided what to study, if she’d even like it, and eventually finding herself in a role in a manufacturing firm. It was the exposure to the variety of business areas that kept her creative, entrepreneurial mind busy and growing for years. But when her comfort started to set in, she knew she needed a change.

While Lauren is now seen as an expert in the wellness industry—helping experts and coaches to “make a mark, make an impact, and make money”—in this podcast episode you get to hear more of her personal journey. The decisions she made along the way, and the beliefs and attitude it took to continue to thrive in her business and life.

We talk about:
* not knowing what you want to be, but being willing to try
* getting uncomfortable and finding beauty in the “not knowing”
* the analytical brain vs heart balance when it comes to decision-making
* Lauren’s mindset of trusting that things will work out
* how she finally got to her “clarity moment” and found her heart’s work
* finding joy in your challenges

And plenty more. This episode will give you insight and inspiration to trusting and owning your own expertise.

Episode 75: It’s Time To Prioritise Feeling Good

25m · Published 07 Sep 06:00
Despite it being something we all want, most of us are not prioritising feeling good in our lives. Instead we’re choosing to worry about what others think of us, making sure we’re spinning plates for others first, and doing all the “right” things we think we “should” be doing.

There’s a natural tendency to feel like feeling good is a nice to have, instead of an essential need. In today’s conversation starter I’m giving you a new lens to view this through. So that you can start to see how powerful it can be to start treating feeling good as a primary need in your life.

From handling stressful days with more ease, through to creating more joy and purpose in your life – this episode will give you a new way to commit to yourself.

And if you’re wanting to ingrain a practice of feeling good in your life, come join my free 5 Day Feel Good Challenge. Episode 74: Following Your Intuition Even If You Don’t Know How, With Sara Walka

1h 4m · Published 01 Sep 06:00
Loving all things witchy, enchanted and fantastical, Sara Walka didn’t always “fit in” as a kid. She says she was told she was “wise beyond her years” and while that felt right, after a while it also felt like she didn’t belong.

Gradually pulling away from all she knew, to do instead what she though she “should” do, led her to an meltdown.

Sara shares in this episode how she took that meltdown, and a seemingly “wobbly” career path – from selling candy and being on the road, to grad school and teaching, to advocating for children with special needs – into everything that she now does. Showing up as her full, magical self now, and supporting thousands of other women to lean into their intuition, conjure joy and make everyday magic through her business, The Sisters Enchanted.

We could all do with a little more magic in our lives, and Sara’s here to inspire you to find more of yours.

We talk about:

* not fitting in as a kid and feeling like you don’t belong
* how Sara’s “meltdown” reconnected her to her knowing
* the things we do to feel accepted
* finding the clarity moments to know what to do next
* how we all have an inner knowing, and what to do to listen to yours

And so much more!

Episode 73: Getting To Know Your Desires And What Blocks You Feeling Good

19m · Published 31 Aug 06:00
How much time do you spend considering what it is you actually want in your life?

Chances are that even if you do ponder this at times, you tend to block yourself from “going too far”. We have this tendency to focus on all the symptoms that make our life feel challenging – the stress management, the time management. Which can cloud us when it comes to making decisions about what we really want.

This conversation starter is about a critical theme that has the power to transform your relationship with yourself, your loved ones, and support you to ditch your stress (and busyness) entirely.

In this episode I invite you to get curious and explore:

* what it is you most desire, and how often you really consider this
* blocks to feeling good and how to start to remove them
* considering you feeling good as a powerful way to charge your energy and clarity in your life

All so you can strengthen your feel-good muscles. And if you want to take this even deeper into your life, come join my free 5 Day Feel Good Challenge is open and the next round starts 7 Sep 2020. Sign up at www.thedaisypatch.co.uk/feelgoodchallenge.

Episode 72: Mastering Your Relationship With Yourself, With Julie Johnson

56m · Published 25 Aug 06:00
At 5 years old she’d made a clear decision as to what she wanted to be when she grew up. And, she did it! Working her butt off for 20 years as a veterinarian, Julie Johnson had essentially created her ‘dream life’. She’d travelled, met her husband, and was doing work she loved.

Yet she was working 60-80 hour weeks, with a growing family and competing priorities. There came a point where she knew her lifestyle needed to change. She says the decision was easy, when she was asked her self one simple question (you’ll have to tune in to find out what it was! 😉).

Having created a deeper relationship with herself, Julie realised her love of her career was actually much more to do with the people, and knowing this gave her the fuel to create the lifestyle she now leads—integrating her priorities of health, family and people.

Julie is a Leadership and Performance Coach, specialising in the Agricultural industry where she supports leaders to magnetise their success through a whole system lens, centred on people.

On this episode we talk about:
* career choices when you love what you do but know things need to change
* navigating the pendulum of decisions around work, home, and motherhood and how to not get caught up in guilt
* becoming more present with where you are right now
* why Julie believes investing in yourself is a top priority
* how her most painful lessons have actually given her more appreciation for life

Episode 71: Going Deep To Get To Know Yourself Fully

14m · Published 24 Aug 06:00
How’s your “small talk” game? For many years I’d go about new conversations in a way that I thought I “should”. I’d make polite chit chat about the weather and make sure I was inquiring in to everything about the other person – even if it wasn’t of interest, felt negative, or frankly, was boring to me!

I’d walk away from those moments feeling exhausted, like someone had zapped my energy, and kept wondering why. Over time I’ve realised that part of the reason is because I’m a deep person. I thrive on deep conversations and want to have that level of connection in my life.

How well do you know yourself? And if you’re depleted from certain activities or experiences in your life, could it be that you’re not getting to the depth of what lights you up most?

Today in this “conversation starter” episode you’ll explore how to have conversations with yourself, continue to unlayer all your truths, and get real with yourself. 😉 I touch on:

* how to cultivate connection (with yourself and others)
* exploring your energy and what feels good to you, and
* owning your truth.
