How an Orphan Met His Biological Father 35 Years Later

Thanh Campbell was brought over to Canada in 1975 by a group of Canadian rescuers during the Vietnam War. Thanh was soon adopted by a family who raised him for the rest of his life. As Thanh grew up he began to learn more about his past, and where he came from. He began publicly sharing his story, and his story started to gain some momentum. He thought he was the only one, but he later learned out that there were many other orphans who were also on the same flight. After the story gained worldwide attention, one day Thanh received an email that there was a man in Vietnam who claimed to be his biological father! In this episode Kapil sits down with Thanh and goes deep in to Thanh's life story. Thanh is the author of the book Orphan 32 which details his entire life journey.

Back home in Burundi Patrick was a basketball coach, and he also worked in radio. His love for basketball had him relocate to Canada, with the dream of working in radio in Toronto. After many attempts at securing stable work, Patrick found himself without a home, and living on the streets. A civil war had broken out back home, and he had no choice but to stay put in Toronto. In this episode, Kapil sits down with Patrick to learn about his struggles of being homeless and to eventually landing his dream job of broadcasting games for the Toronto Raptors!!
