Jennifer founded WELLOGA four years ago. Born on April 10, 1953, in Wadena, Saskatchewan, Senator Pamela Wallin began her career in journalism as a reporter for CBC Radio in 1974. Wallin went on to work for a number of media outlets, including the Toronto Star, Global Television, and CTV News, before becoming a co-host of CTV's daily talk show "Canada AM" in 1985. In addition to her work in broadcasting, Wallin has been very active in public service. She served as Consul General of Canada in New York from 2002 to 2006 and was appointed to the Canadian Senate in 2008 by then-Prime Minister Stephen Harper. She is currently a Canadian senator and has been since 2009. PamelaÂs latest book is titled ÂCats: True Tails and Life Lessons from a Purring Companion. In addition, she has written three other books: ÂSpeaking of Success, ÂThe First Man in My Life, and ÂSince You Asked. She has received numerous awards and honours for her contributions to journalism and public service, including the Order of Canada in 2007. Torontonians have come to know Pooja as one of the familiar faces greeting them every morning to help start their day with a smile. She has spent almost 20 years working on air in television as a News Anchor, Reporter and TV Host, covering everything from politics to entertainment, as well as contributing to major events taking place in Toronto. She has hosted broadcasts for the annual Pride Parade, and Caribbean Carnival Grand Parade, and has reported from the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival. Before joining the Pooja and Gurdeep Show on 98.1 CHFI, Pooja worked as a Morning Show Host on CP24 Breakfast and also made regular appearances on CTVÂs "The Social" and "Marilyn Dennis Show." Her career in television started as a Traffic Reporter and Entertainment Host for Global Morning News in Toronto in 2003. PoojaÂs love of performing started at a young age. At 18 years old she auditioned and was accepted into The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, before moving back to Toronto to pursue her career in broadcasting. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in WomenÂs Studies from York University and a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Seneca College. As a second-generation South Asian Canadian, Pooja has been very active in her community and has made giving back a priority. She has worked with several charities and continues to mentor young women in their career paths. Pooja has used her platform to help normalize infertility after sharing her own personal struggles with starting a family. When Pooja is not working, you may find her at a Raptors or Leafs game.
