Janine Green ASB Chats........... Covid-19 and ASB

57m · Published 08 Apr 12:55

The Covid-19 pandemic has undoubtedly changed the way we manage cases of ASB; we have had to quickly adapt our case management approach in order to deliver a service remotely, as well as facing the challenge of having different types of ASB reported, such as concerns about people refusing to follow self-distancing rules.

For this episode, I welcome Rebecca Brown, CEO of ASB Help, a national charity established to improve support available for victims of ASB. A large part of the work of the charity is advising and guiding practitioners.

Rebecca shares some of her advice and practical tips around how best to deliver an ASB service in these challenging times and the tools that remain available to us to resolve issues and support victims.

Janine Green ASB Chats..........Mediation

Mediation has long been recognised as a tool that can be used to resolve low-level ASB issues and neighbour disputes. Practitioners recognise that getting parties to talk to each other, understand a different point of view, and decide a joint way of living together, can be incredibly effective for nipping disputes in the bud.

So why is it that rates of referrals have reduced over the years? I am joined by Kim Logan, Managing Director of ADR Mediation, specialising in providing mediation to the housing sector, who shares her views on what mediation is, when it is most effective, how to get residents to engage and how to chose a mediation company.
