Your Mind Is Worth Millions - with Financially Fit Her

49m · Published 25 Apr 14:02

Today’s episode I’ve invited Sarina from Financially Fit Her to the podcast.. She’s a mother and a money mindset coach and she’s on a mission to help women heal their relationship with their finances and get them out of that lack mentality when it comes to financial abundance.

With a banking background, Sarina is a certified money coach and qualified mortgage broker. She started Financially Fit Her in 2020, where she pairs psychological principles, universal spiritual beliefs and practical financial guidance to support her clients to change their relationship with money.

Having gone through this journey over the last 5 years myself, and after reaching a big financial goal in the process by adapting this exact type of method I thought it was timely to have someone join me (with the educational backing) to discuss all things money and mindset.

Low Oestrogen, Big Dreams! - with Samantha Marfell

1h 16m · Published 28 Mar 14:01

So it turns out my hormones are VERY unhappy…. again. After a very stressful year, I had a sneaking suspicion based on my symptoms that something wasn’t working correctly and knew it was time to reach out for support.

When it comes to our bodies it can feel like such a personal and sensitive subject, so my initial thought was to reach out to my good friend, and ex-client Sammie, who specializes in functional health.

Sammie has a degree in Exercise science majoring in Cardiac science however after experiencing her own hormonal dysfunction from undereating and overtraining 10 years ago (shortly after I had experience my first encounter with hormonal imbalance) she threw herself into building her knowledge around functional heath where she worked alongside a company in the USA, learning hormone testing, best practice protocols, physiology of the body and how hormones communicate with each other and other systems on the body.

In this episode we flesh out what my body is currently going through, and some of the protocols we have in place to help soothe my hormones back to a happy and balanced place!

Manifesting My Goal + My Money Story

27m · Published 14 Feb 14:01

This week I wanted to shed some light on my money story and personal goals, that I spent most of 2022 working toward. In the episode I unpack the limiting belief I had around the goal and the challenges I’ve faced to achieve it.

While most of us know that anything worth having doesn’t always come easy, I wanted to get vulnerable and open up about my journey in hope that you feel seen if you’re in the same position or provide some inspiration to make the sacrifices needed to reach your goal.

Be kind as this journey has not been easy but if my story can empower just ONE person then I'm glad to have shared it x

A Lesson On Resilience with a QPS SERT Operator

1h 26m · Published 17 Jan 14:01

The Special Emergency Response Team within the Queensland Police Service provides the ability to respond to high risk situations incidents statewide. The tasks of the role range from resolving siege situations to counter terrorism operations and everything in between including resolving the recent incident in Tara which claimed the life of 6 people including 2 QPS officers and a nearby resident.

With this level of responsibility only around 4-5 applicants are successful out of approximately  70 people per intake. The three-day selection course is regarded as the most difficult and physically demanding course within the Queensland Police Service. It tests physical and mental endurance through individual and team tasks, problem solving, sleep deprivation, basic survival skills and by challenging phobias.

You can only imagine the level of resilience required or to be acquired to have the ability to not only make it through the selection criteria but to maintain your role as a SERT Operator.

Today I have one of our very own QPS SERT operators with me to give some insight into what he does, how he uses those skills transferable to impact his life for the better but also open up about some of the challenges faced with this type of work. For obvious reasons we need to keep his identity private but I hope there’s something you’ll learn today from my conversation around resilience.

Five Reasons You Are Not Progressing In Your Goals

Reaching plateau's in your training and not progressing with your goals can be frustrating. To kick off SEASON TWO of Movement and Mimosas I wanted to discuss some factors that may be inhibiting your ability to reach your goals. As we bring in the New Year I wanted today’s episode to give you a gentle and loving nudge in the right direction as you reflect on the year that was and set your intentions for the year to come.

Points discussed:

  • Progressive overload - what it means and how to implement it into your training.
  • The importance of rest and recovery.
  • Why following a program structure can benefit your progress.
  • How your nutritional habit may be working against you.
  • A useful mindset quote to help align your goals for longevity.
