Welcome to 60 Questions. In this series, we will be interviewing different medical specialists to give our audience a better idea of what it is like to specialize in a certain field within the workers' compensation industry. In this episode of 60 Questions, we are joined byDr. DeepteeJain! Deeptee Jain, MD, is a Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon at The Center for Bone and Joint Surgery of the Palm Beaches. Prior to joining the Center for Bone and Joint Surgery, Dr. Jain was an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.

Her practice focuses on the evaluation and treatment of degenerative spine conditions, including lumbar and cervical disc herniations, degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, and spinal stenosis. Dr. Jain also specializes in minimally invasive (MIS) spinal procedures and uses traditional approaches when necessary. Dr. Jain attended Duke University School of Medicine and then completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco, where she was awarded Chief Orthopedic Surgery Resident. She went on to receive subspecialized fellowship training in orthopedic spine surgery at New York University Hospital for Joint Disease, where she focused on minimally invasive techniques.

Dr. Jain is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the North American Spine Society (where she is also an Advocacy Council Member), the Lumbar Spine Research Society, and the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. She is also a reviewer for the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery and a contributor to Forbes.

In this series, we will be interviewing different medical specialists to give our audience a better idea of what it is like to specialize in a certain field within the workers' compensation industry. In this episode of 60 Questions, we are joined by Dr. Tosca Kinchelow! Dr. Kinchelow earned her undergraduate degree at Duke University and her doctor of medicine degree at Michigan State College of Human Medicine, where she was awarded a research fellowship. After receiving her doctor of medicine degree, she returned to her home state of New Jersey and completed her residency in orthopaedic surgery, a year of orthopaedic research, and a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Kinchelow has been in private practice in South Florida since 2007.

Dr. Kinchelow’s goal is to not only properly diagnose and treat your orthopedic condition but, with an energetic, straightforward, and collaborative approach, also empower and guide you to participate in your healing, restoration, and recovery.

Dr. Matthew Widner is an orthopaedic surgeon with subspeciality fellowship training in sports medicine.  He specializes in complex sports medicine procedures involving the knee and shoulder. He also specializes in shoulder, knee, and hip replacement surgery including the direct anterior approach.  His patient centered approach focuses on providing excellent and up to date care in order to get the patient back to the lifestyle and activities they enjoy.

In this episode of 60 Questions, we are joined by Eric J. Balaguer, MD who is a board-certified⁠ ⁠hand and upper extremity surgeon specializing in conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow as well as microvascular surgery and nerve repairs.His undergraduate education took place at The Ohio State University majoring in biological sciences. He then returned to his native Puerto Rico to attend medical school.

Upon graduation, he obtained an NIH grant and spent 2 years at the Orthopedic Research Laboratory of Columbia University Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He completed his formal training at The University of Miami with a hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital / University of Miami Department of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Balaguer is an avid athlete and has been part of the medical team of different sports teams at the high school, college and professional level. He also remains very active in several sports. Dr. Balaguer is a two times cancer survivor and is very passionate about his charity work with cancer patients. He is involved in many charities including the ⁠Leukemia Lymphoma Society⁠.

In this episode of 60 Questions, we are joined by Dr. Raviinder S. Parmar of Alleviate Pain he is Pain Management Physician located in St Petersburg, FL. 

Board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine, Raviinder S. Parmar, MD, provides comprehensive, compassionate care to the men and women of Pinellas Park and St. Petersburg, Florida, and the surrounding communities at his practice, Alleviate Pain. The patient always comes first at Alleviate Pain, and Dr. Parmar uses the latest innovations in pain medicine to help his patients find relief.

Dr. Parmar grew up in Naples, Florida, and completed his undergraduate work at the University of Florida. He went on to earn his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, where he developed an interest in helping people afflicted with pain find relief. He took a one-year sabbatical to conduct research on degenerative joint diseases at the prestigious Rothman Institute, also in Philadelphia.

While at the Rothman Institute, Dr. Parmar published several journal articles and book chapters. He also presented his research at national conferences. He then completed a surgical intern year at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, and a residency in anesthesiology at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. Parmar continued his focus on pain management with a fellowship at the world-renowned UC Davis Center for Pain Medicine, which was recently selected as a clinical center of excellence for pain medicine.

Dr. Parmar is fluent in English, Spanish, and Punjabi, enabling him to help patients from a variety of backgrounds.

60 Questions with Anand P. Panchal, DO

In this episode we speak to Dr. Anand P. Panchal is a board-certified, dual fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon practicing both ⁠sports medicine⁠ and surgery of the ⁠shoulder, elbow⁠, and ⁠knee⁠ for adult and pediatric patients. He is currently one of the only dual fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons in all of southeast Florida. His training started with a rigorous orthopedic surgery residency program in Ohio, followed by two well-renowned fellowships.

Dr. Panchal’s first fellowship took place at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, where he assisted in the care of high school, college (Towson State University), and professional-level athletes (Baltimore Ravens, Washington Nationals, and the Baltimore Blast). He then completed a comprehensive upper extremity fellowship at Triangle Orthopaedic Associates in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, where, under the tutelage of Dr. William Mallon and Dr. Julian M. 60 Questions with David A. Blum, MD

Welcome to 60 Questions. In this series, we will be interviewing different medical specialists to give our audience a better idea of what it is like to specialize in a certain field within the workers' compensation industry. In this episode we speak to Dr. David A. Blum, Dr. Blum is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a Subspecialty Certificate in Surgery of the Hand. He received his undergraduate degree (B.S., 1990) and medical degree (M.D., 1994) from the University of Florida. After completing a surgical internship at Orlando Regional Medical Center, he did an orthopaedic surgery research fellowship which involved publishing research papers and presenting at orthopaedic meetings.

Dr. Blum completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in 2001. He completed his hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in 2002.

Before joining Orthopaedic Center of South Florida, Dr. Blum had a very successful solo practice. He began practicing in Plantation in 2002. He is known in the community for his excellent and compassionate care for his patients. He won the Patients Choice Award and Most Compassionate Doctor Award, as voted on by patients, several times.

​Dr. Blum is on the cutting edge in minimally invasive surgeries and procedures such as ultrasound-guided trigger finger release, endoscopic carpal tunnel release, collagenase injections for Dupuytren’s contractures, as well as wrist and finger arthroscopy. He also has expertise in the management of complex wrist and hand fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, nerve injuries, and industrial injuries.

Dr. Blum is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and several other medical societies.
