A New Way to Date

25m · Published 06 Dec 11:00

In episode 631, I chat with Taly Matiteyahu.

For the last few years dating has been a lot about swiping right or left. But what if there's a new way to find your next date and make a real connection?

Taly Matiteyahu thinks she has figured out an answer.

By night, Taly works to build Blink, an audio-only blind speed dating app inspired by a revelatory experience at a blackout restaurant. Making connections with strangers based on conversation alone, free of looks-driven assumptions, sparked the thought: would people date a wider variety of people if they were able to make an emotional connection before swiping left?

By day, Taly works at an AI-powered legal tech company as a Product Manager, having previously worked as a lawyer at a NYC law firm and as a legal operations professional at Netflix and Datadog. Taly earned her Bachelor's degree from New York University in 2011 and her Juris Doctorate from Columbia Law School in 2015.

Listen to learn more about what she's learned about dating, connection and building a startup.

He has been seen on HBO, FOX News Channel’s Red Eye, The Late Late Show on CBS, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, comedy.tv on the HD channel, and two appearances on Gotham Comedy Live AXSTV. He has appeared at the prestigious Just for Laughs Comedy Festival Montreal and LOL Lounge TBS Presents A Very Funny Festival: Just for Laughs Chicago.

His hope is that his stories will inspire others to take up meditation and release pent-up emotions.  Listen to learn more.

Finding Your Value - A Meditation Mantra

7m · Published 15 Nov 13:46

In episode 628 of Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things, I am resharing a meditation/mantra I did awhile back that seemed to be helpful to others.  Take about 10 minutes and find some peace in your day.

This short Meditation Mantra is about finding your value.  Are you feeling a sense of imposter syndrome or maybe lacking confidence in a certain area of your life?  Or maybe you find you're so concerned about others you forget that you yourself have value?  Then this is the perfect audio for you.  You can play this any time for a just a few minutes and slowly begin to shift your mindset into a more positive loving space and be reminded that yes, you have value.
