Art in the Time of Coronavirus - Thoughts From Around the World

55m · Published 11 Aug 10:00

In episode 611 of Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things, I am sharing a repost from 1 year ago about a group chat on the arts.

We are back with our Wednesday segment where I chat with various experts and a new series I call, Connected Conversations.

Each episode will feature an episode from an expert teaching on a topic or a conversation with a group of other people discussing an important topic.  Each conversation will somehow relate to humanity, human connection, human rights or becoming a more extraordinary person.

This episode is part of the Connected Conversations series where we talk about the arts, why they're important, how to make them survive and thrive during tough time using technology and how different countries are promoting the arts around the world.  You'll hear 3 guests from around the world giving their input to this conversation.

The Other Side of Success

30m · Published 09 Aug 10:00

In episode 610 I chat with Martin Sawa who chased the American Dream. Did his cutthroat journey break him or see him reach his greatest achievement? He refused to let poverty define his future. After growing up the son of immigrants, he quit his day job to become a real estate salesperson working solely on commission. As Sawa pushed his career forward making bigger deals at each painstaking step up he had one hand on the prize he'd dreamed of for years. But with stress driving him to alcoholism and poor choices, it took tragedy to force him to confront the true cost of his sacrifices. Was the financial wealth worth the price of his soul? Listen and find out.
