Adam Richman

1h 4m · Published 07 Jan 09:39

Don't yuck my yum! So says the hugely charismatic food aficionado Adam Richman in conversation with Simon from New York. Adam is best known for the show Man V Food, in which he’d take on outlandish eating challenges in far flung-corners of the States. A self-educated food fanatic and trained sushi chef, he has kept a journal of every restaurant he’s eaten in since 1995. His passion for cooking in all its forms (not to mention football) shines as they discuss the very best (and worst) of American cuisine. He also comes up with a sumptuous barbecue recipe in our challenge.

Rick Stein

1h 3m · Published 29 Dec 08:18

Our latest guest on Grilling is a true titan of the industry - at the vanguard of lending quality and credibility to the British food and restaurant industry. Rick Stein has become synonymous with laid-back cooking, seafood and, of course, Padstow. He opened his first restaurant in the Cornish fishing port in 1975, having initially failed as a nightclub impresario. He’s been a regular on our screens since the 80s, has broadened his restaurant horizons and written numerous best selling books. Here he tells Simon about fights on the quayside, cooking fillets full of bones in the early years, and what he played as his last song in his days as a DJ.

As ever, we're giving a way a top-of-the-range Weber barbecue too. For your chance to win, head to Weber.com/grilling.

Andi Oliver

55m · Published 26 Dec 08:16

It's a Boxing Day bonus episode of Grilling for you, as Simon is joined by the inimitable Andi Oliver. Andi has led an extraordinarily colourful life. A chef, restaurateur, musician and TV presenter, she grew up on RAF bases in Suffolk and Cyprus before moving to London at 17. It was there she met Neneh Cherry, with whom she took the stage in the band Rip Rig + Panic. She subsequently presented non-cooking shows like Badaas TV with none other than Ice-T - but has never lost her affinity for food. She tells Simon about hosting dinner parties as a kid, serving up honey chicken and rice for starving revellers at 2am, and reveals what's on her kitchen stereo when she's cooking. There are a couple of belting barbecue recipes for your delectation too.

As always, we're giving away a premium Weber barbecue in this episode too. To enter, head to weber.com/gilling.

How do you come to run the first pub in the world ever to have been awarded two Michelin stars? Well, it's certainly been quite the ride for Tom Kerridge. He and Simon discuss Tom the actor, hedonist, businessman, TV presenter, drinker, teetotaler, campaigner and plenty more besides - not least his extraordinary rise as a chef through a string of top kitchens. They also reflect upon the influence of the great Marco Pierre White upon both Tom and the British culinary landscape, and consider what needs to be done to save the hospitality industry in the face of the pandemic. We also find out which Kent seaside resort is home to his favourite hidden gem and put his barbecue skills to the test in our recipe challenge.

Paul Ainsworth

1h 6m · Published 15 Dec 08:00

What does a Michelin starred chef have after a night on the beers? Find out as Paul Ainsworth reveals all to Simon on this latest episode of Grilling. (Clue: not cavia.) Paul cut his teeth under the late Gary Rhodes before working for Gordon Ramsay and later Marcus Wareing. Then, in 2006, he and two friends opened a restaurant, which he and his wife Emma now own and run themselves. Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 in Padstow was awarded its star in 2013, and he also oversees local Italian favourite Rojano's In The Square and The Mariners pub in Rock. As well as finding out his aforementioned guilty late-night pleasure, we also discover what made Gary Rhodes's bread and butter pudding so darn fine, get a frightening glimpse into a Ramsay kitchen, and learn how to elevate a simple burger into something really rather special.

As ever, we're giving away a premium Weber barbecue too. Listen in or head to weber.com/grilling to find out how you can win.

The Hairy Bikers

1h 6m · Published 08 Dec 00:00

Simon is joined by two real men of the people on our latest episode of Grilling - the funny, warm and exceedingly talented Hairy Bikers. With a background in film and television production, Dave Myers and Si King met on the set of The Gambling Man back in 1992. Having struck up a friendship, they made their first appearance on our screens in 2004 with The Hairy Bikers Cookbook, and have since gone on to make numerous shows - seeing them travel all over Britain and the world on their trusty motorcycles. In a predictably round-the-houses conversation, Simon and the boys talk web-pawed poodles, lobotomies, microlighting in Namibia, barbecued turbot and tenderloins, and much, much more.

As usual, we're giving a way a premium Weber barbecue too. Head to Weber.com/grilling to enter.

Marcus Wareing

1h 5m · Published 01 Dec 08:00

It's fair to say Simon has one of Britain's top chefs on this latest episode of Grilling. Marcus Wareing famously worked hand-in-glove with Gordon Ramsay for many years, earning several Michelin stars along the way. After what one can only describe as an acrimonious parting of the ways, he opened ‘Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley’ back in 2010, now known simply as Marcus, where he is Chef Patron. He’s also made numerous television appearances on shows like Masterchef: The Professionals and The Great British Menu - where he got the better of Simon with a legendary custard tart that he then made for the Queen.

He and Simon discuss his tough childhood working in the family fruit and veg business, his meteoric rise through the culinary ranks, and what went wrong with Gordon. He also serves up a fantastic barbecue recipe, and has a top tip for keeping your meet succulent when you get cooking outdoors.

On which note, head to weber.com/grilling for you chance to win a top-of-the-range Weber Grilling Hub.

Rachel Khoo

45m · Published 17 Nov 08:00

This week, Simon is grilling the brilliant Rachel Khoo. A style icon and entrepreneur, Rachel was an instant hit with her TV Show The Little Paris Kitchen, which saw her preparing dishes in her tiny Belleville flat and at various locations around the French capital. She has since filmed food shows around the world and released several books.

Now based in Stockholm, she's learned to make a mean moose stew, and invokes the spirit of Sweden with tales of perch fishing, pickled pink onions and jumping through holes in the ice post-sauna. It turns out she and Simon both have an unhealthy enthusiasm for pens, paper and notebooks too!
