From My Standpoint

by Josh C. Jones

In an age where perception is fact and negativity and conflict remain entertainment, it can be difficult and sometimes troubling to find a positive and try and understand another’s perspective. Join Josh C. Jones, an author, teacher, speaker, and more, as he discusses different topics in an attempt to showcase a differing perspective with a nugget of positivity and truth. Let's ask those questions, travel some of those logical thought trails, think outside the current culture's accepted cognition, and find some valuable information, which could very well bring hope, understanding, and a proper perspective to our lives. With these podcast episodes, as with my books and writings, I hope to help you rebuild your faith, reignite your hope, overcome depression, open that dialogue, and reach your destiny of richness, success, and life.

Episode 074: Monkey See, Monkey Do

9m · Published 21 Nov 11:00

Monkey see, Monkey do is a fantastic idiom for choosing your friends, your circle of influence, wisely.

Do you know why your mouth spits out some of the diarrhea it does? Do you know why your behavior is wicked? Do you know why you act cocky, irritating, disrespectful, etc.? Do you know why you are generous, loving, helpful?

This isn’t the only or full reason, but it is an important one.

The people you choose to associate with will rub off on you, just as you can on them.

We need each other in this life; we share with each other in this life; but we also must learn to be wise and choose carefully.

Episode 073: AMERICA Then and Now (The Last Best Hope...)

9m · Published 01 Nov 08:00

Also a promotion for my new poetry book America Then and Now a poem by Josh C. Jones

America. Who was she? What has she become?

John Adams once said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Liberty, according to our founders here in America, could not exist without morality, which itself cannot exist without religion, but not just any religion, as their lives were examples of and their writings clearly indicate.

The argument of our founders and of their generation was so widespread that it was indisputable by facts; and According to James Hutson of the Library of Congress, “America’s founders believed that republican government requires a moral citizenry and that religion is necessary for morality.”

Is America a beacon of hope, still? Is there still patriotism? Americans?

In this episode we will look at a few quick examples and also encourage you to read the poem AMERICA Then and Now (a poem by Josh C. Jones), which you can find on Amazon.

Episode 072: What Happened in Society?

16m · Published 17 Oct 11:00

Society has declined. We are told every day that racism is rampant, crime is surging, murder and shootings are becoming normal occurrences, education scores have plummeted, kids are becoming more and more disrespectful and violent, and morality, good character, and truth have been evaporating from culture.

Evolution states that all came from nothing and that out of randomness and chaos came order; we are told that the world should be getting better—more righteous, good, more enlightened, and more generous.

But is that really what we are seeing?

Or has something been removed, something foundational to a moral people and a society of order?

Let’s talk about this and see if we can’t, individually, answer this question of “What happened?”

Episode 071: Objective Reality PART II

7m · Published 22 Aug 13:00

Is reality real? Is truth subjective or objective? Are we truly trying to live in a non-fiction world, or have we suspended our disbelief for the real world to appease our emotions, feelings, and desires and to justify our sensual pleasures?

In reality, we cannot change the objective truth, for truth is not subjective or relative, or it would no longer be the truth.

Listen as we read some hard-to-swallow truth that helps explain why this life is a give-and-take and why the feeling of entitlement is nothing more than selfish taking.

Episode 070: Objective Reality PART I

6m · Published 08 Aug 13:00

What is reality?

Can all people be treated the same in reality?

Can all people truly be treated fairly at all times and in all circumstances?

In reality, no, we cannot truly treat all people the same, and we do not treat all people at all times in all circumstances fairly.

Some people want the opportunity to work, learn, grow, and earn things, while others, sadly, act as they feel—entitled.

Listen to some brief logical reasoning from questions and comments posted on social media about why.

Episode 069: The Racist Cancellation to Cancel Racism

8m · Published 18 Jul 13:00

The freedom to cancel in order to cancel freedom?

Have we really been using racism to fight perceived racism and instilling a culture of canceling freedom and differing ideologies to find a utopia of “equity” and “freedom”?

In the name of fighting supposed white supremacy, did we really cancel the legacy of a pioneering black woman?

Decide for yourself how far we have fallen and how looney we have become as a society in this short but informative podcast episode: The Racist Cancellation to Cancel Racism

Episode 068: Problem Aborted

8m · Published 04 Jul 13:00

Leave my body alone; pay for my body, but leave it alone.

In this episode, we will try to discuss, as well as we can in our short time together, the importance of life, such as our (in America) right to Life.

Research has shown the number one reason for abortion is financial concerns, with the timing or partner being wrong and the woman’s quality of life (future plans) being interrupted or potentially lowered due to the child; near the bottom was health.

Can we truly, in good conscience and in the best interest of a child, terminate their life just because?

Some can, some can’t.

But what about you?

Episode 067: Newborn Drag

7m · Published 20 Jun 13:00

“To be a drag queen is to be reborn, over and over again, in an image of your own creation. This is empowering.” Heidi Klaassen, Salon.com

To remake yourself in your own image, to be reborn—brought back to life—and to undergo a complete spiritual change—to be your own god—this is empowering; this is self-love.

In the few minutes we have, we will look at this main question: “Ask not why the children should not see drag queens; ask why drag queens crave an audience of children?”

Why is this question so insightful when thought about outside of the current bias? What is the reasoning behind this question?

Listen to this episode as we tackle this question and other statements that have been circulating, as we attempt to follow the flickering light of truth and find the most logical path in a dark world.

As I read from the “Gays Against Groomers” Twitter page, “Our whole ‘community’ has been taken over by pedophiles and groomers.”

As a 9-year-old drag queen named Miss Mae Hem has seen but may not understand yet, when he danced in an Ohio bar for adults as they threw money at him, why crave an audience of children?

Episode 066: Affirm the Identifier or Else...

12m · Published 06 Jun 13:00

Affirm a child’s identifier immediately or else.

“Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” (John Adams)

There are a few things that this world demands of others, but they all revolve around the forceful affirmation of, often times, a false identity.

In this episode, we will discuss an aspect of the affirmation side when it comes to children.

What?

The world says that you must affirm their lifestyle and opinion—their worldview—or be shamed, fired, sued, canceled, etc., but don’t expect the same idea of affirmation in return; in other words, live by their definition of “new tolerance” rather than true tolerance.

“We're so preoccupied with protecting children from disappointment and discomfort that we're inadvertently excusing them from growing up.” (LZ Granderson)
