They think, “This is the line, and you better not cross it or else,” and their “or else” is that they will be unhappy. They put the power of their emotions into others’ hands.

Many of us have been told since we were children that we need to hide our feelings or change how we're behaving so others will be comfortable. We haven't been taught how to really feel our feelings. We tend to stuff them down until we explode.
If you've ever felt frustrated and cranky and stomped around grumpily all day long, lashing out at the drop of a hat, you know what I'm talking about. Reacting that way to your emotions is not necessary. There's another way--a better way--and it will help you feel better much faster.
