I want to share a hack with you that I have been super consistent with over the past few months and that is a product I use from Organifi called Organifi Red. It is 100% organic and contains 13 superfoods in powder form.

I don’t know if you’ll remember this, but during my mold detox, I was consuming pomegranate powder daily for detox support. I love Organifi Red because it has pomegranate powder in it for my daily dose and things like Cordyceps, Rhodiola, cranberry, and ginseng. It’s caffeine-free while being energizing, which is a major plus for most of us.

Every morning I put a scoop in my smoothie or a glass of water and it gives me a dose of herbs, medicinal mushrooms, and a comprehensive berry blend. It’s really yummy, it contains zero crap and it has definitely become a go-to product for me. If you want to try it out, which I think you do, you can go to www.organifi.com/carly and use code “Carly” for 15% off all products.

043: How the Texas Winter Storm Changed How We're Preparing For Disaster

1h 3m · Published 16 Mar 07:00

If you lost power, water, and cell phone service, and all gas stations and grocery stores were closed, how long could you survive?

A snowstorm took over Texas in February and shut nearly everything down. Austin and I lost power, heat, and cell phone service for nearly an entire week and our surrounding communities had to rally together to pull through. The winter storm really made us all evaluate how we’re preparing for disaster moving forward and how passionately we feel that everyone should do the same.

We were fortunate enough to have our friends Jake Grosek and Allegra Moet Brantley nearby to brave the storm with and today they are joining Austin and me to talk all about it. We dive into what the storm was like, how we’re preparing for disaster in the future, and our advice for those who don’t have a prep plan.

Enjoy!

Episode Highlights:

  • 6:03 What we thought the snowstorm was going to be like
  • 9:19 Waking up the morning of the storm
  • 14:38 Bursting pipes, helping neighbors, and saving tiny homes
  • 20:54 All of the home damage and repairs Jake and Allegra are dealing with
  • 24:33 Why preparing for disaster is so important
  • 27:55 Giving ourselves a personal preparedness rating
  • 30:18 The most useful tools we had during the storm
  • 36:04 Things we wish we had thought to have handy
  • 44:23 Is the government coming to save you?
  • 51:12 How we’re going to prepare our homes differently
  • 54:02 Disaster gear we’re keeping in our car at all times
  • 55:48 Preparing for disaster when living in a small space

I am so excited to share my love for Organifi with you all. You know that quality is incredibly important to me and Organifi is so thoughtful in their ingredients, dosing, and in the products they create and they're now supporting this show.

I am addicted to Organifi Gold which is 100% organic. I mix a scoop with warm coconut milk and collagen before bed to support my blood sugar while sleeping, but also to help me wind down. It reminds me of an Ayurvedic golden milk which is traditionally sipped on as a sleep tonic. Gold has lemon balm, magnesium, Reishi, which are all known to aid sleep, and it also contains warming herbs like turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and tastes so good. I look forward to this concoction every night after dinner.

I also love the Organifi Red powder and add it as an antioxidant boost to my smoothie each morning. If you want to try it out, which I definitely would recommend, you can go to www.organifi.com/carly and use code “Carly” for 15% off all products.
