22m · Published 25 Apr 12:15

Let’s explore the transformative power of meditation and mindfulness in our lives and discuss the importance of being present, observing our emotions without judgment, and not allowing them to hinder our future.

And, the importance of being a part of communities that can help you heal spiritually and encourage you to reach your goals and desires?

In this episode we will delve into the importance of not fighting emotions but rather observing them, and how this change can lead to personal growth and transformation. As a certified meditation teacher,  I offer a unique formula for addressing challenges and transforming lives through mindfulness.

You will learn how to use the breath as a way to center yourself and the benefits of practicing gratitude. Here, I use an experience I had with a client who was anxious about a job opportunity. The story highlights the power of visualization and manifestation in achieving desire goals. By focusing on your thoughts and intentions, you can transform your life and manifest your desires. Something Happens Before the Grief

  • Even those of us who work within this body of work called grief, often find it necessary to take a break. Taking a break doesn’t mean that the curiosity and exploration stops. It’s quite the opposite. Taking a break at least for me is an opportunity to step back from the world and dive into a deeper understanding of all of the dynamics of grief, including the other emotional companions that show up after a significant loss.
  • That’s exactly what I did. I took a break and now I’m stepping back in with a more profound insight on this mystery gift called grief.
  • In this episode, I will share with you what happens before the grief occurs.
  • Throughout our conversation, I share what unfolded during my personal period of exploration and curiosity around healing and growing through grief.
  • Plus, you will learn my unique formula for addressing grief in a more holistic manner.

In This Episode, You Will Learn:

  • How to experience grief with compassion and curiosity when it shows up (3:35-3:40)
  • The missing parts that go unnoticed within your mind and body before the grief (4:40-4:45)
  • How to know when it’s grief (4:58 - 5:15)
  • The importance of experiencing the wisdom that grief has to offer (5:50 - 5:55)
  • The relationship between grief and growth (6:00 - 6:20)

Bringing Attention to Inherited Family Trauma

30m · Published 01 Nov 10:00

Whether or not we are aware of it, trauma is a massive transformative force. It molds the way we think and also how we see, react to, and accept reality. In other words, we are a byproduct of our traumatic experiences and the mechanisms we developed to deal with them.

However, that doesn't mean there is nothing we can do about it.

In this episode, I invite you to bring conscious attention to your inherited family trauma. We learn how to look at it with compassion and curiosity, recognize our responses, and modify our reactions to it. We think of inherited family trauma as a group responsibility and not an individual experience.

Plus, we learn mechanisms to accept and embrace painful memories, to allow them to go through us, and, more importantly, how to let them go. We also learn to accept our truth, and I share three points to consider when bringing attention to inherited trauma.

In This Episode, You Will Learn:

  • What does it mean to bring attention to inherited trauma? (3:58)
  • Addictions are evidence of family dynamics (8:31)
  • You can let go of most of the things you are carrying (12:15)
  • What if you accept that traumatic experience you endured as a child? (20:29)
  • Three points to remember when thinking of your inherited family trauma (22:06)
  • Your job is to remember the best is yet to come (26:35)

We make a conscious effort to learn how to grieve a loved one. We are aware of the challenges we might be forced to face, the pain we must endure, and the growth we should seek. But what about our own transition? How prepared are we to talk about it?

In this episode, Jane Duncan Rogers visits us to encourage the conversation that no one likes to think about, yet everyone should. Jane is the Founder of Before I Go Solutions, a non-profit dedicated to creating end-of-life plans. She is an Author and Facilitator specializing in conversations about dying, death, grief, bereavement, and end-of-life planning, and was the first person to lead You Can Heal Your Life® study groups in the UK, inspired by the book of the same name by Louise Hay.

We also talk about front door/back door feelings, normalizing feeling angry, creating a living will, advanced healthcare directives, and so much more.

Some Questions I Ask:

I heard you say you and your husband went through cancer together. Would you share a little bit about that? (5:55)

Could you talk a little bit about the work you started decades ago, about healing yourself? (15:28)

In This Episode, You Will Learn:

About Jane's book, Gifted by Grief, and what people loved about it (3:51)

There's nothing like facing the end to see things more clearly (7:13)

How Do You Open Your Heart When it Hurts

20m · Published 11 Oct 09:00

Today, as I was celebrating the culmination of a very intense, compassionate, and loving year-long process, a warming phone call helped me realize that growth is all that matters. Regardless of how we choose to do it, keeping on growing is the perfect way to free ourselves from past trauma, enjoy being present, and be filled with peace.

In this episode, we learn how to open our hearts even when it hurts. We explore why some past experiences we don't remember clearly or aren't consciously aware of come to haunt us, what we can do about them, and how to set ourselves free from them.

We understand why some of our personal relationships with those we love might change during our growth process, how to deal with that, and what is the only relationship we can't neglect. We also go through an interesting analogy between mountains and challenges that will help you understand why a new difficulty arises after every victory.

In This Episode, You Will Learn:

  • Life is about growth, growth, and more growth (1:45)
  • Climbing through challenges becomes easier with practice (2:41)
  • Growth processes aren't cookies and cream all the time (4:19)
  • Why it is so hard to understand how we feel (10:27)
  • How to process and release the things that put us down (16:04)

Why are You Chasing Yourself?

20m · Published 04 Oct 09:00

Generally, the urgent receives more attention than the important, and there is nothing particularly wrong with that; we must take care of what's bothering us right now. Still, there is always something else beyond the current issue. It is a fact that every unwanted habit or pattern is rooted in childhood trauma, and to find the way back to ourselves, we must revisit what hurt us in the past and find a way to make peace with it.

The inspiration for today's episode came from a totally unexpected source; someone asked me a question that triggered a whole new way of looking at disconnection with the self and the feeling of losing track of who we are.

I invite you to search and explore the origin of your pain and the past experiences that trigger the behaviors or habits you want to get rid of. I offer some of the golden nuggets my mentor shared with me about pain and its origin and the best way to get rid of it. We also learn how to deal with trauma using the SURE acronym, my approach to finding the way back to ourselves, and the three questions that will make that challenging task more accessible.

In This Episode, You Will Learn:

  • Are you chasing yourself? What does that mean anyway? (2:21)
  • What you can do to stop feeling the pain from childhood traumas (7:39)
  • The past is always paying you a visit (9:21)
  • The SURE acronym and how it can help you (11:51)
  • What you can do to find a way back to yourself (13:51)
  • Three questions that will help you get back on track towards who you are (16:43)
