The Fit Life Podcast has heard from many athletes over the episodes, this week we hear from an athlete who has represented her country, and will hopefully get to do it again in the 2022 Winter Olympics.

This week Chad and Michelle dit down to talk with a rising Professional Women's Ice Hockey Player, Loren Gabel. Loren talks about her history with LP and how she became a member of our LP Family. She chats about how her training has been over the years and when she really started to dial into the sport. They chat about rituals and some odd superstitions. Something about a little Double Bubble...

Loren talks about her involvement with the PWHPA and what the organization is doing to support Women's Hockey and the fight to pursue equality in sports. While there is still a bit of a hill to climb to find equality in the sport, the players and the organization are definitely on the right track.

The CrossFit Open with Coach Adam

As the CrossFit Open gets closer and closer, The Fit Life Podcast will be talking to previous competitors about their experiences with this gruesome event.

First up we have the athlete/coach that introduced it to us all - Coach Adam. In this episode, Chad and Adam talk about their history with the sport and what they have experienced over the years of competing - improvements and hardships. Adam and Chad take us through each year, from Adam's first not so great year to Chad's "retirement" and then come back.

As they take us through the years, Adam and Chad bring light to the fact that the CrossFit Open has become more inclusive. Starting with only one scale to now having multiple different levels so everyone can compete.

The pain of the workouts may seem unbearable most of the time, but overall it's a fun event to get involved in, whether you are a veteran or a beginner. Pain is temporary, the memories last forever.

Talking Endurance with Coach Mark Cullen

We have heard from Adam and Michelle on their experience in the world of endurance. This time we are getting the scoop straight from the source of one of their mentors in the sport.

In this episode, Chad uncovers the story of how Mark got into the world of endurance, and stuck with it. Finding his love of running, which is hard for most, but for Mark it was love at first marathon, and from there he took off in the endurance world. Loving endurance so much, Mark went into coaching for the sport and uses his experience and learning lessons to help his athletes.

He chats about his experience with LP and compares the similarities and how they benefit each other.  Mark talks about how LP has helped his training in the off season, and gave him a new perspective on the importance of strength training. While being at LP, Mark has helped uncover so many members untouched potential in the sport and can't wait to see what's in store.

Finally, Coach Mark discusses LP becoming an official endurance club in 2021 and what being a part of the club will mean to LP and the community.

Transformation in Sport: Balancing multiple sports
