Today we have quite a different episode for you... Due to COVID-19 we are all experiencing shifts and changes in our lives. We have seen devastating health effects world wide, and in Canada of course we’ve been told the precautions we all need to take which include Social Distancing.  Due to these safety precautions and returning from travel, our normal in person recording isn’t possible right now.  Therefore,  Kyra and I decided to each record our thoughts and experiences we’ve been having during our self isolations with you. 2.7 Mindset - Welcome 'Hoame' with Carolyn & Stephanie

It's a new month (which means it's time for a new theme in Season 2) and we are going to be focusing on MINDSET for all of March! What better way to kick us off than with an episode with the Co-founders of Toronto's top meditation studio, Hoame?!  They have created the most incredible modern meditation studio here in a city that certainly needs to slow down from time to time. 

Hoame Co-Founders, Stephanie and Carolyn, both studied psychology in university and went on to postgraduate training in mental health and addictions (along with multiple other certifications). Carolyn pursued her masters in social work and Stephanie her masters in psychology. Professionally, they both worked clinical roles in a variety of hospital, academic and community settings. They also went on to accept several faculty teaching appointments. 

After years of working in clinical settings, they realized that much of what they were seeing in their practice was a direct result of today’s modern stress-filled lifestyle. Their desire to combat this epidemic led them to the study of mindfulness and meditation. 

Hoame represents a shift away from the traditional reactionary approaches to health and wellness and a movement towards a modern and preventative approach to wellbeing.  With Hoame, Carolyn and Stephanie wish to inspire a lifestyle movement where stress is no longer simply an accepted part of our daily living. A space where taking care of yourself is encouraged and celebrated!

Here is our final episode on Financial Wellness. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Tara Murphy. Tara is a Senior Associate Investment Banker at Liberty North Capital; a boutique Bay street Investment Bank. She works directly with the managing partner in all facets; from advisory and analysis to capital raising and structuring of M&A. Tara is a Dealing Representative with the Ontario Securities Commission and has significant transitional experience within North American capital markets.

Outside of corporate finance, Tara is passionate about personal finance and runs “Live Wellthy” workshops, promoting both health and wealth. In these workshops, Tara speaks about saving strategies, setting financial goals, beginning to invest and she continues to empower others to watch their money work for them. From finance to your personal lives, Tara is an advocate for living your happiest, best, and most successful life.
