Stephen Spencer has never told anyone this before. During the Vietnam war, he fell in love with a Vietnamese local, and would ultimately cross enemy lines and get shot to try and be with her. True War Stories: Mission Report is a production of Voyage Media. The series is produced by Nat Mundel, Robert Mitas, Dan Benamor and Adam Prince. While serving as a Fire Control Officer in Vietnam, Gordon Bocher's plane was shot down, and he was one of three survivors. He was stranded overnight in the most dangerous valley in Vietnam for American servicemen, and had to survive until he could be rescued. He tells the story in this episode. Daniel Annechino tells the story of his uncle Angelo, who revealed the truth of his military service to his family on his deathbed. During his service as a US Army Ranger in World War II, Angelo was captured by the Nazis, marched into the Colosseum in Rome to be executed in front of an audience, saw his best friend die, escaped through the floor of a moving train, and hid in the home of an Italian family (developing a romance with the family's daughter) before he could try and make it back home.
