Child Inclusive Mediation (CIM) w/ Louisa Whitney @ LKW Mediation - Ep18 DCP

38m · Published 19 Jul 19:00

Hey Listeners 🎧

WHAT IS CHILD INCLUSIVE MEDIATION? 💭

There are many forms of mediation, one of which peaked my interest when hearing more about it a little while ago from my good friend and expert in her field, Louisa Whitney at LKW Family Mediation.

Louisa is a specialist mediator and works in a very interesting area that is all about putting "child at the centre, NOT the middle".

It might be your divorce / separation... but it's your kids experiences and life-long lessons that will show you whether you did it right... or not!

Your children have a voice, opinions, feelings and should be heard as such. Without judgement, criticism or fear of persecution or reprimand.

To find out all about this amazing and highly inclusive process, watch the full clip here.

Or for all you visual people out there who want to watch us, head over to our YouTube channel, the Divorce Coaching Podcast...

Nesting Arrangements w/ Rosalind Fitzgerald @ Rayden Solicitors - Ep14 the Divorce Coaching Podcast

45m · Published 06 Jul 10:00

Hey Listeners 🎧

What is a Nesting Arrangement!?... We ask Family Law Professional Rosalind Fitzgerald of Rayden Solicitors.

Why did we ask Ros?... Well she's not only a fantastic Family Solicitors (which she very mush is) but she has lived and breathed her own personal life experience as a separated mum and divorcee with her family living through their own Nesting Arrangements journey.

So who better to ask really!

So what is a Nesting Arrangement and how does it work?... Listen to us 3 chatting about this very different but ultimately very positive story, you will have a great resource and knowledge that may be able to assist you and your family with this very personable and inclusive process of separation.

As ever, Fay & I ask loads of questions:
What is a Nesting Arrangement?
What are the highs? What are the lows?
Pitfalls to look out for?
How do the kids feel about it?
What's it like sharing not just 1 but 2 homes with your ex!?
Does it give the Parents a good look into what a "2 Homes" scenario is really like for the kids?
What happens when you forget your favourite pair of shoes at the other home!?
And a lot lot more.

Fingers crossed there are a lot of useful tips and insights in this one.

Please do leave us a comment and let us hear your thoughts and feelings on this episode. Likewise, let us know if there is a topic you'd like us to talk about or maybe you want to join us on DCP about your own experience???

Enjoy and we look forward to hearing from you

Nutrition & Divorce / Separation - Ep11 DCP - You Are What You Eat?!

41m · Published 29 Jun 10:00

"You are what you eat" Or are you?
Or more importantly for our audience, does what you eat affect your divorce? How you'll act?
How you'll feel?

We thought we'd ask a Pro so we talked to Saffron Rogerson, a Nutritional Therapist from www.thislifenutrition.co.uk

We've likely all thought an ex was nuts... but I'd never thought that eating them (nuts not my ex!) could impact so much both physically, mentally & emotionally.

Have a watch and tell us your thoughts... comments below 👇

We're also now on Spotify for those that just want to listen, simply search Divorce Coaching Podcast, and Apple is being created as I type :)

Starting Over After Divorce / Separation - Those Immediate Mins, Hours & Days After - Ep13 DCP

27m · Published 29 Jun 10:00

Ep13 is all about starting over after your divorce / separation.

Now I thought Fay & I were going to go down the practical route in this chat of the nuts and bolts of what do you do after the "formal" process was done...

But straight out the gate and Fay jumps in with a banger of question that I was expecting... "what was the major change you had to navigate after..." and it turns out she meant after "that conversation"!!! Like immediately after...
Where would I stay that first night?
When would I/could I see the kids?
How the hell do you communicate with your ex when you've just said it's over!?

As ever, we covered a loooooot of taboo topics and some really heavy hitting, every day questions that someone may be gong through.

Fingers crossed there are a lot of useful tips and insights in this one.

Please do leave us a comment and let us hear your thoughts and feelings on this episode. Likewise, let us know if there is a topic you'd like us to talk about or maybe you want to join us on DCP about your own experience???

39m · Published 29 Jun 10:00

Welcome to Ep7 of the DCP, this weeks topic is about Co-Parenting in Lockdown, but also in general.

Fay & I recorded this in the middle of Feb 2021 (literally days before changes to new UK restrictions were put out by BoJo!

Eitherway, still an interesting topic regardless of lockdowns or not.

As always, Fay & I talk about our own experiences, ups & downs, learning and adapting. None of us are perfect, we're al human, we even talk bring up real life situations such as haircuts!! Yep sounds silly and something so mundane but trust me it's those little moments that can make the biggest frictions and potentially contentious outcomes... But is doesn't have to 🤔

You may have noticed (for our regulars) a pretty new logo, yep I've officially formed my new branding of "Mr Divorce Coach" so look out for new contact info and an update to all social media feeds at the end of the video to follow and get in touch.

We love to hear your thoughts, comments, questions and also ideas for topics? guests you'd like to hear from or get advice from? And more. So please comment below 👇 (it helps the algorithm apparently!) and get in touch with either Fay or I directly.

Thanks everyone, enjoy and take care

WTF is a Divorce Coach??? A Client Asked... So we Answered - DCP Ep10

26m · Published 29 Jun 10:00

Divorce Coach? or Divorce Coaching?...

Questions:
* What is it?
* What do they do?
* How does it work?
* How can it help me?
* What sort of things can they help with?
* Who should I work with?
* When should I work with one?

Or as a recent enquiry eloquently put it... "WTF is a Divorce Coach?" 🤔

Fay & I thought it might be useful to recap on our very first episode (Ep1 Introductions), now that we're a little more familiar (and not bricking it being on video lol).

We also talk about the different types of Divorce Coach that are out there, how each differ from each other and have different styles and approaches.

So if you ever wondered what a Divorce Coach is? How they work? What they do and work with you on?.. Listen to this 👍

Thanks for listening
