Proactive Podcast

by Jtribe Radio

Proactive Podcast is a compilation of casual conversations with mental health and medical professionals, as well as leaders of change within the community, to help bring lay-awareness of the topics people need to know more about. This podcast is the next step in actualizing Project Proactive’s vision to completely normalize the conversation of mental health (and other topics that impact mental health), raise the visibility of resources, and empower others to take their own initiatives, break stigmas and effect change. Project Proactive is now officially a 501c3, and has successfully become the hub of all things "Jewish mental health" (although you don't have to be Jewish to benefit from our steadily growing resources- lots of our content addresses challenges in other faith-based communities). In Season 1 we will borrow from some of the highlight episodes of our #mentalhealthmonday lives to give you, the listener, a solid foundation of the basics, before we delve deeper into more specific topics is Season 2. We hope you enjoy! For more foundational resources visit our website at www.jproactive.com/resources . Please reach out with any questions to [email protected] .

1h 8m · Published 13 Aug 18:00

"Untangling Shame with Compassion & Curiosity" is actually a sequel to last week’s episode " Web of Shame ". Shame is a pretty big topic and we are often left unaware of the harmful way Shame can wreak havoc on our lives. Although there is now a lot more talk about it since Brene Brown came on the pop psychology scene, Bruchy ads an incredible depth and sensitivity to the topic, making it even more understandable than ever before.

In her work as a therapist, Bruchy takes a holistic approach to therapy, utilizing mindfulness, 12-steps and other spiritual concepts, and as well as psychodrama techniques. Her clients come from wide-ranging backgrounds; across cultural origins, different genders, across political viewpoints, and religious creeds. Bruchy has a unique understanding of how those personal factors impact life, and a strong appreciation for the power of culture, religion, and family in shaping our experiences and in alleviating - and contributing to - our suffering.

56m · Published 29 Jul 14:00

Everybody feels anxiety sometimes. It’s normal. It doesn't necessarily mean you have an Anxiety disorder. It is only considered a “disorder” if it interferes with your ability to function in your day-to-day life.

In this episode, renowned psychologist, author and public speaker, Sarah Chana Radcliffe explains what anxiety is, some tips on living with anxiety and self-care ideas to help prevent anxiety from becoming a disorder.

She gives her clients the tools to help them live their best life well after their time in therapy is over.
