Ep 16: Habit Building (Part 1)
10m · Published
There are two big misconceptions when it comes to habit building. One is that we need motivation to be able to continually take action and another is that we don’t have time in our schedule to add in a new habit. In Part 1, we’re going to tackle the motivation piece. Thanks for being here!
Ep 15: Finding Joy
16m · Published
Finding joy comes from eliminating suffering. Eliminating suffering allows us to be in the present moment and notice the beautiful things that are happening around us. We can eliminate suffering by letting go of distractions and things outside our control. Join me today for some examples on how to do this!
Ep 14: The Ego Loves Drama
11m · Published
The ego loves drama! It also loves judgment, blame and fear. Those things are all focusing on outward, external things, which are things we cannot control. We need to be focusing on. What we CAN control, which is our own mind, actions, and responses. Let’s discuss today how we might do that!
Ep 13: Comparison
12m · Published
Comparison comes up in two major ways: comparison of other people and comparison of time. With social media today, it is easier than ever to see what is going on in other people’s lives and to judge ourselves against that. It is also really easy, especially with COVID, to slip into the time comparison trap; being nostalgic for past times or looking forward to a better scenario that we’ve built in our minds. In this episode, we’ll talk about how to get back into the present moment when we slip into these thoughts. We’ll also talk about how comparison comes up in education and learning!
Ep 12: Choose Love Over Fear
15m · Published
Any negative thought pattern that we experience stems from fear. We need to bring some awareness to these thoughts so we have the chance to question them. Is this thought serving me? Is this thought fear based? Adding some curiosity allows us to choose a different thought. What does this mean when we apply this idea to learning? Listen to this episode to find out!

Ep 11: Done is Better Than Perfect
13m · Published
This is a message on consistency! Often times we find ourselves waiting waiting waiting for the perfect opportunity to start something. We think the timing needs to be just right or the resources need to be just right. We talk ourselves out of trying because we’re convinced there would be a better time to do it. But what if that ‘better time’ never comes? What opportunities are you holding yourself back from? Or maybe your aren’t waiting anymore, you are doing the thing, you have begun working towards your goal, but you stop yourself short because you know it’s not perfect, or you know it’s not high quality. Give yourself permission to suck! Everyone is bad when they try something new. Everyone has a hard time sticking with new habits. The difference between someone who gets better and someone who stays the same is the person who is willing to stay consistent despite being bad.
Ep 10: Fear of Failure
18m · Published
The fear of failure holds us back from a lot of things. In this episode we’ll discuss how to overcome that fear so we can keep challenging ourselves to grow.
Ep 9: Tracking in Education is Bogus - Here’s Why
26m · Published
Kids are told from a very young age whether they are ‘gifted’ or not. This is then reinforced throughout their schooling and it is detrimental to all students. Today we’ll explore what tracking looks like in schools and what we can do to change. Join me on instagram at @lindsayluminant to continue the conversation!
Ep 8: My Thoughts On Schools Reopening
29m · Published
Tomorrow is the first day of August. That means that back-to-school mindset has begun in educators and parents. This year is quite different with Coronavirus still alive and well. Will students go back to school? Will they be at home? How will parents balance distanced learning and work? Are there positive things that could come from this? Let’s discuss!
