Healing Your Inner Child to Find Freedom From Bingeing & Restriction [Emily's Client Story]

46m · Published 24 Jul 19:01

My past client, Emily, is a formerly-nomadic, creative, fun-loving data engineer who dealt for years with patterns of restriction, bingeing, and at times, purging. When we started working together, she described herself as an "emotional binge eater" and had figured out why these patterns were happening but was having a hard time putting the steps into action. By working through her inner child wounds and healing patterns that were keeping her stuck, Emily found food freedom and the ability to fully enjoy food, without it taking over her life or mental energy.

In this episode, we chat about Emily's experiences with disordered eating and celiac disease, the role of control and coping strategies in disordered eating, her healing journey and the importance of reconnecting with her inner child, understanding and accepting natural fluctuations in hunger levels, and approaching feelings and coping with high expectations through creative fun and exploration. Tune in to hear Emily's full story!
