Here’s a Concise Guide to Holistic Healing with Sinora Allwood Part 2

37m · Published 17 Dec 14:00

Welcome to the second episode of our three-part series with Sinora, where we talk about what real healing looks and feels like.

The first episode provides us with a glimpse of Sinora’s path toward becoming a holistic practitioner and how one’s experience could be a catalyst for that. We also discussed the essence of going beyond our titles, so we can truly embrace who we truly are, discover what we are meant to do on this planet, and even lead us on the right road of recovery.

Our second episode is medically charged, where we dive deep into the idea of holistic healing and what it truly is. In here, Sinora further elaborates her journey to finding the answers to her unexplained fertility and then getting on the path of recovery for good.

Lastly, we touch on the strong connection between mind and body - what you think is what you manifest. Sinora illustrates that by sharing how gratitude eased her physical pain and challenged negative thoughts.

Here's what was covered in this episode:

  • Uncover the root cause of most diseases and how some aspects of conventional medicine might be making it worse
  • Know why medicine should be individualized (what works for many doesn’t mean it could work for you!)
  • Find out what inflammation is, how it affects the body, and how it manifests
  • Unlock the immense power of gratitude
  • Learn the real meaning of detox and how it preps the body for a reset

Going Beyond Titles and Using Love to Heal with Sinora Allwood Part 1

46m · Published 07 Dec 14:00

Everybody needs healing, but what is true healing? How does one achieve it?

To answer this question, I talked with Sinora, former co-host  of A Tribe Called Fertility, for this episode. The result: a highly engaging, insightful discussion of how love might be all we need to begin the process of recovery.

Sinora also profoundly explained how the titles we impose on ourselves might be limiting us to achieving our divine purpose, causing us severe stress that may only worsen our already poor mental and physical health.

Our conversation is long, so I divided this into three parts. But I have no doubt this first episode is something you don’t want to miss, as it lays the foundations of the next ones.

Here's what was covered in this episode:

  • Discover how love eventually led to Sinora’s healing protocols such as the 21-day cleanse
  • Know why so many people continue chasing titles and why they need to stop doing that
  • Understand the intimate connection between mind and body
  • Walk through Sinora’s journey on breaking away from self-limiting mindset to find her purpose
  • Learn why everyone needs to work with a functional doctor and how to find the right one

Healing from Codependency with Tamala Shaw

1h 33m · Published 17 May 15:36
Episode Description Trigger warning: This podcast episode touches on many sensitive topics like addiction and alcoholism. If these are triggering for you, please use caution when listening or skip this episode for now. One cliché goes that no man is an island - no one stands alone. But there's also a thin line that divides caring for someone and being codependent on them. How do you know that your relationship is already the latter?

To answer this question, I talked to someone who stared at it in the face - and thrived.

This episode features Tamala Shaw, a co-dependent survivor now helping others heal from the same situation through her advocacy, codependentme.org. From her experience, she shares the telltale signs that you are in a codependent relationship.

She also talks about what it's like to be in one - how it feels to lose yourself in taking care of someone else, and how to ultimately reclaim your power, learn to set boundaries, and be unapologetically you.

If you're struggling with codependency or think you might be in a codependent relationship, this episode is for you.

Here's what was covered in this episode:

  • What is codependency?
  • The first - and essential thing - you have to do to start breaking the chains of codependency
  • Why boundaries are a weapon for healing and thriving after codependency
  • How detachment with love looks like and why it's okay to let people go
  • Difference between narcissism and manipulation due to codependency

Sex-Positive You with Yael Rosenstock Gonzales

1h 4m · Published 07 May 13:48

Though sex is a prevalent topic in society, it remains taboo in many social circles. This may be due to the fact that sex is often seen as a private matter, and discussions about it are often considered to be inappropriate in public settings.

Additionally, there is a strong stigma surrounding sex in many cultures, which can make people reluctant to discuss it openly.

However, this reluctance to talk about sex openly can lead to a lack of education about sexual health, practices, and identities, which can ultimately be harmful.

In this sexually charged episode, Yael and I finally address the elephant in the room and touch on topics many don't want to deal with, from breaking away with labels to how to talk about sex to children, how people's experiences and interactions with society affect our perception of sex, and a whole lot more.

Mind you, with my background, this is an uncomfortable discussion - but a necessary one if I hope to contribute into creating a safe, nonjudgmental space not only for others but more so for myself.

So lower down your inhibitions, open up your mind, and be educated about the power of sex and its role in your identity.

Here's what was covered in this episode:

  • How to start finding your sexual identity
  • Where does shame come from and how to get rid of it?
  • How organizations like Kaleidoscope Vibrations help you find your identity without strict labels attached
  • What is fluidity?
  • How to handle sex talk with kids
  • What is sex-positive you?

The Power in the Surrender, Using Astrology in Navigating Life and Meeting your Spiritual Support System with Sue Beauregard

1h 18m · Published 27 Apr 14:00
As social creatures, humans have a deep need and longing to belong whether to a culture, a community, a group, or even just a pair. When we feel like we're part of something larger than ourselves, we're happier and more content. However, we also struggle with fitting in. We all want to be seen as unique individuals, but we also want to feel like we're part of a group. It's a delicate balance, and it's one that we often battle with throughout our lives.

I believe no one else understands this issue more deeply than my guest for this episode, Sue Beauregard. She was not only adopted, but she's also mixed race, and grew up in a predominantly white neighborhood.

Her story is one of both belonging and not belonging, and how she's navigated those waters throughout her life until she found the path where she's free from labels and be authentic and raw.

Sue's story is one that I think we can all relate to on some level, and I'm excited to share it with you. So without further ado, here's my conversation with Sue Beauregard.

The Path to Finding Your Self-Worth with Jazzy Sdlich

57m · Published 17 Apr 14:00
What is your self-worth? Usually, when I ask this question to others (and even to myself), they talk about their accomplishments, experiences, and values. Then, Jazzy will walk us through powerful techniques to finally claim our identities and stand by them unapologetically.

This episode is filled with plenty of nuggets of wisdom, so choose the ones that resonate with you. But if I can give you a takeaway, it’s this: you are worthy, and there are ways to help you find it out for yourself.

How to Find Healing from Generational Trauma and Ancestral Wounds with Dulce Orozco, LMHC

1h 23m · Published 07 Apr 14:00
Why do people suffer from self-limiting beliefs, and why are these critical for women, especially those of color? How can one break the chains brought by ancestral wounds and generational trauma? In this episode, Dulce and I dive right into one of the deepest root causes of poor boundaries, guilt, shame, and difficulty of managing emotions that are so common for people of color. We unapologetically start from the place of ancestral pain and how this impacts who we are today. Ultimately, the goal becomes to make it easier for women to get the help that they need when they need it to start the journey of healing. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to be raw and candid about my struggles over the past few years living as an immigrant and a person of color. My hope is that this episode will help all women heal from the inside out. The power of our voice and stories matters.

Here's what was covered in this episode:

  • The potent impact of ancestral wounds and generational trauma, including how it affects the parenting of future generations
  • Three things to let go of to start healing
  • How to unlearn and undo traditional mindsets and beliefs passed on through generations
  • Differences in the role of coaches, therapists, and other mental practitioners in trauma work
  • Why therapy work is a partnership - and a commitment
  • The need for emotion neutrality and how a shoebox can teach that
  • The reason "cultural competence" is not enough

Use your voice unapologetically with Amy Sinha

48m · Published 03 Jan 19:51

Amy is such an inspiring person who has a very rich story. She is a Jazz musician who also ventures into different music genres. Currently, she is in the business of voice artistry and loves it! She pulled her strength and courage from her family and believed that all things are possible.

We are in so much of how she tells us her life story and how she has blossomed and uses her voice in different ways but always in an expression of her unapologetic self.

Here’s what was covered in this episode:

  • Getting back from depression through music
  • Auditioning as a voice artist
  • Working as a voice talent with flying colors
  • Being who you are in social media
  • Power of her voice

Guest Bio:

Amy is a Voice Over Artist, Singer, Presenter, a Winner of the “Accelerator Award”. She inspires people to communicate their vision with her voice & unique story!

Born in South Wales, UK, Amy, the youngest of three sisters, was submerged in music from an early age. She entered her first talent contest aged six, singing “Somewhere over the Rainbow”, terrifying moments as she could barely reach the microphone. However, this also marked the beginning of her love of music and performance. Inspired by such a musical upbringing, Amy studied classical piano and singing, but also developed an intimate love affair with Jazz in her teens. A difficult and mature genre that touched Amy very deeply. Possibly because the complexity of this style reflected the events that were occurring in her life during the initial stages of her newfound developing passion.

Amy experienced some rare medical conditions in her early years, being declared as being one out of only 5 children like her in the U.K at the time. She had developed cataracts in both her eyes leaving her almost blind, and then diagnosed with a rare nerve condition which meant she was unable to feel hot, cold, or superficial pain. Due to this nerve condition, she also developed Osteoarthritis leaving her almost wheelchair-bound and causing her growth to stop completely.

The ongoing traumas of her early childhood inevitably played a major role in suppressing Amy’s confidence throughout her life, especially being so short during an age when all a child wants to do is “fit in”, and certainly not stand out because they looked so different.

In what Amy describes as a ‘lightbulb’ moment surrounding her emotions, Amy attended Gorseinon College where she studied Music and Music Technology A-levels. Amy became coined with the description as “The Jazz Singer” and encouraged to pursue her love of Jazz more seriously, and where she also attended with fellow Classical singer, Katherine Jenkins. With the continuous support of her family and newfound ‘tree’ friends (A story she will most happily explain whenever asked 😊), Amy went on to graduate from Leeds College of Music with a BA (Hons) Degree in Music specializing in Jazz, an achievement that she never dreamed was possible.
