Yamanote Line is one of the most famous train lines in Tokyo.

It is the loop service in Tokyo and has 30 stations. 

If you take the Yamanote Line, it takes approximately an hour to get back to the same station.

I guess you will take this line quite often when you travel to Tokyo.

As you may already know, Japanese people love fortune-telling things.

So someone came up with this interesting idea to use the Yamanote stations and diagnosis your personality.

This is called "If you were a station on the Yamanote Line".

→　家賃（Rent）がどのくらいの水準で推移しているかということ。

　例えば、山手線の各駅は、家賃相場が異なります。家賃が高い駅もあれば、安い駅もあります。

例）恵比寿の家賃相場は、だいたい12万円くらいです。

例）最近、東京全体の家賃相場が上がっている。

McDonald's faces a XXX shortage in Japan!

The firm has said it is experiencing delays of shipments of the potatoes used to make its famous French fries.

As a result, it will only sell small portions of its French fries in Japan from Friday until 30 December. (I called and confirmed today )

"McDonald's Japan will temporarily limit sales of Medium- and Large-sized French Fries as a proactive measure to ensure customers can continue to enjoy McDonald's French Fries.

なにか、チーズですとか、ケチャップですとか、ちょっとベチョベチョした液体状のものに、食べ物をDip したりする時の状態を音で表現した言葉です。

・ありきたりな、ありふれた　→　特にその他大多数と同様で、良くも悪くもないと意味。英語でいう Cliche.

※ごめんなさい。本編では、「ありふれた」という表現で使ってましたね。

例）ありきたりな口説き文句 = ありきたりな Pick Up Line = cheazy pick-up line

I am finally going to buy a new laptop. I guess I am buying Macbook pro this time. 

Beleive it or not, this is my very first time buying an apple PC.

例）東京駅の目の前には、丸ビルと新丸ビルがあります。

他にも、「目の前」だけでも使えます。→この場合は、あなたのすぐ前という表現になります。

The closing has two meanings.

1, close for the day

2, close for good

However, it is hard to tell which is which.

Also, some store owners take advantage of this misunderstanding and sell their products.

Consumers believe the shop is offering a great deal because they go out of business. However, the shop will never shut down its business.

日本は、閉店しない閉店セールがたくさんありますので、本当の閉店セール以外はあんまり安くないです（笑）

・食べ飽きた　to get tired of eating

　「食べる」＋「飽きる」＝食べ飽きる　→　これは、毎回同じものを食べたり、いつも同じレストランにいったり、飽きてしまった時に使われます。毎日、お寿司を食べている場合、さすがに食べ飽きますよね？そんな時に使われるのが、この食べ飽きるという表現です。

例）毎日、マクドナルドばっか食べてて、食べ飽きない？

例）毎日ランチでサラダばっか食べてたら、食べ飽きてきたから、今日は焼肉食べたい。

※ちなみに、これは、見飽きある、行き飽きるなど、いろいろなパターンがあるので、一緒に覚えるといいですよ。

・ いちおし

いち＝「一番」、おし「推し」＝いちおし　一番のおすすめ！という意味です。

この「推し」は、推薦（すいせん）と同じ感じです。推薦（すいせん）とは、recommendationです。なので、何かをおすすめする時に使います。

一緒に覚えておきましょう！

例）お寿司屋さんで、今日の「いちおし」はマグロだって。

例）最近の「いちおし」の女優は、川口春奈です。
