Shannon Buth, Founder of House of Shan

41m · Published 04 Nov 05:00

Shannon Buth, Founder of House of Shan, joins us for episode 38 today! What started out as a blog has now essentially become a community that is all about empowering others to 'live what you love' on a daily basis and never quit your day dream! After stumbling on Shannon’s website, I quickly learned that her company is all about connection, empowering women, spreading positivity and giving back to women’s charities. With a background in fashion, Shannon has designed apparel that includes an imperfect heart on every piece, and this heart signifies a daily reminder to 'live your passion, laugh everyday, love deeply, and never quit your day dream'. In other words, 'LIVE WHAT YOU LOVE'! Not only does this reminder resonate with me, but I can absolutely support a company that donates $5 from every purchase to a women’s charity. The company was founded in January of 2020, and Shannon has donated over $17,500 to organizations this year alone! Today, we’re growing on the go with the founder of House of Shan, Shannon Buth!

Jared Grimes, Manifesting The Journey

1h 31m · Published 28 Oct 04:00

Jared Grimes is joining us today, and if you don’t know him yet - you absolutely will! The modern day Sammy Davis Junior, Jared truly does it all. From Broadway shows like, ‘After Midnight’ and ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’, to dancing and acting over on 6th Avenue at Radio City Music Hall throughout the ‘Spring Spectacular’ alongside the Radio City Rockettes, Jared’s no stranger to the stage. He’s choreographed for companies like Cirque Du Soleil, and alongside a handful of projects he’s continued to make happen during quarantine, you’ll find him currently acting and appearing on NBC’s Manifest. He really does do it ALL! Jared’s resume is miles long, and it’s honestly a testament to how hard he works day in and day out. You’ll hear us talk about his journey with his voice and how it went from being his self-described achilles heel to now being something that allows him to foster his creativity as he releases his own music to the world. Humble, talented, dedicated, and extremely passionate are a few of the words that come to mind when I think of him. Today, we’re growing on the go with Jared Grimes!

Sam Grooms, Financial Advisor at Lifetime Financial Growth

50m · Published 14 Oct 04:00

Today’s guest is a special one! We sit down with financial advisor, Sam Grooms (and my older brother!), to discuss some financial questions I have that will hopefully benefit everyone listening. I’ve navigated filing for an LLC and going from a salaried employee to 90% freelance all on my own, and there’s a handful of things I wish I had known along the way. So, my brother Sam sat down with me to discuss all things finance! He’s a certified Financial Advisor at Lifetime Financial Growth in Columbus, OH. There’s specific laws that dictate where he’s able to practice from state to state, but Sam shared his e-mail with us at the end of the episode if you do have any general questions. I’ve also linked his contact in the show notes. I hope you enjoy this episode as we grow on the go with Sam Grooms!

Tory Stroker is a non-diet Registered Dietician and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. She’s someone that has struggled with food and body image for years, and she understands the frustrations and feelings of out of control thoughts around food. Tory recently launched her own private practice, Tory Stroker Nutrition, and she’s now empowering women to break free from obsessing over food as they ditch the diet culture. In this episode we talk about disordered eating, intuitive eating, and who exactly is allowed to be dishing out the meal plans and nutrition advice. I’m hoping that this episode will provide some insight as well as a reminder to love the body that we are all so lucky have. A lot of the information Tory shared was actually new to me, and if you have any questions for a follow up episode - please send them over to the podcast Instagram page. You can DM me @onthegopodcast, and hopefully we’ll be able to get Tory back sooner rather than later to talk all things nutrition. Now, let’s get to growing on the go with Tory Stroker!

Founder of Project Purple, Dino Verrelli + Community Member Keelin Hodgkins DiMario

1h 44m · Published 02 Sep 20:58

Today’s guests include the founder of Project Purple, Dino Verrelli, and Project Purple Community Member, Keelin Hodgkins DiMario! Project Purple is a non-profit organization created to raise awareness, support patients and families affected by the disease, and fund research efforts to defeat pancreatic cancer.  The non-profit organization came to fruition after Dino’s father was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in 2008. After chemotherapy and a handful of procedures, his father John, was in the clear only to find out that the cancer had come back in 2010. Keelin and her family have also experienced a handful of hard losses with pancreatic cancer over the years, and you’ll hear first hand how horrible this disease is from both guests today. As pancreatic cancer has no early detection, it’s up to us to continue spreading awareness and raising funds to fight this disease as best we can! Here’s to growing on the go with Dino and Keelin today.

Ruka, Artist & Professional in the Dance Industry

1h 9m · Published 01 Jul 04:00

Today we're joined by Ruka, The Artist. I always like to ask guests how they personally like to be introduced or what title they may use to describe themselves. As someone who has worn the educator, director, teacher, dancer, and hat of many professions, it’s no question to understand that Ruka truly is an artist in all senses of the word!

A Florida native, Ruka obtained his Masters in Dance after performing with the Miami City Ballet. Ruka went on to dance with various companies such Philadanco, Armitage Gone! Dance, and Limon Dance Company as well as serving as the dance captain with Royal Caribbean as he sailed the seas making a living as a professional dancer. Ruka now serves as the Director of the Berklee Commercial Dance Intensive at Boston Conservatory at Berklee. I not only spent the week teaching alongside Ruka last week at the Commercial dance Intensive, but I spent yesterday morning enjoying a cup of coffee and talking to Ruka about his life’s journey up to this point. I could truly talk to him for hours, and I feel like there’s a great deal of depth within the conversation. I look forward to the next time we can connect, and I hope you enjoy growing on the go today with Ruka White.
