52m · Published 27 Jul 01:00

Barbara Snow was born and lived most of her life in the States; she now lives in Villa Banba, Ecuador with her dogs and is a writer of what her friends call "science faction", crafting stories of process that enlighten and entertain. She has written and published around 20 books.

Her biggest transformation came early on, when her bridegroom of 6 weeks had a stroke and she took care of him until he died. Coming through the dark night, Barbara was introduced to Shamanism through a Peruvian Shaman named Oscar Miro-Quesada and she credits this spiritual path as saving her life.

Barbara shares how she has followed her guidance and given herself a lot of permission to be wildly creative, periodically reinventing herself and finding new ways of living fully expressed.

Donald Hargrove's most recent collection of digital paintings "The Landscape of Origins" is an exquisite testimony to his connection to nature and the essence of life.

From a young age, Donald Hargrove knew he wanted to be an artist. Born and raised in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia then), Donald's life was shaped by deep friendships with his neighbors, his love of the land, and the joy he first experienced at the Mzilikazi Art Centre.

Most recently, he survived extraordinary surgeries that saved his life from a disease that took his right arm, shoulder girdle and major musculature on one side, and reconnected him with his love of art making during the intense lockdowns of Covid in Scotland.

He is exhibiting again, and shares his journey of healing and creative discovery here with Julie.

Decoupling My Identity From Work And Money with Danielle Cadhit

51m · Published 17 May 23:10

This transformational tale is a fairy tale for modern times—how the young successful consultant found her way back to her love of life.

After being successful as a corporate consultant to big pharma, Danielle Cadhit experienced burnout and went on a sabbatical where she prioritized her gut experience and her playful side. She ultimately reinvented herself in a way that honors her playfulness, and creativity as much as her work savvy and innovation. She is no longer defined by her money or her job.

This tale inspires all of us to heed the signs of deep discontent and not be lured by external success; instead, to find another way to live, even if it means leaving something you're good at.

  • The gifts and challenge of being born to immigrant parents
  • The script of success
  • Her big pharma consulting success at an early age
  • Burnout
  • Her turn towards nonprofit work
  • The ball pit and her return to play
  • A seven month sabbatical
  • No longer being defined by her job/money
  • Coming home to herself
