Tony Farias

53m · Published 08 Jul 18:20
Tony Farias is a loan officer with American Pacific Mortgage. He was born in Boston but raised in Salt Lake City where he’s been for 35 years. Tony always wanted to be in the real estate field, as he loves to learn and to help and knows that people are always going to need someone to help them in their journey to finding a home. What Should People Look for in Mortgage Companies? Tony begins by saying that everyone wants you to have a great experience, but the difference often lies in the individual you’re talking to. How well do they respond? Do they have a team backing them up? These internal factors help keep the client and the agent informed, which Tony believes is the first step in having a good experience. When it comes to deciding between a bank or credit union and a mortgage company, Tony has worked for both, so he has great information to inform your decision. Bank guidelines are tighter than most mortgage companies, and while they have better rates, the question of how dedicated they are to their clients is still important. Mortgage companies have longer hours and are more dedicated around the clock.

Heather Rae Swanger is the owner of the Utah Real Estate School, one of few locally-owned real estate schools in the country. She is a University of Utah graduate who loves education and teaching and is passionate about the value of a career in real estate. When asked about the high-fail rate of new real estate agents, Heather says it comes down to two things. One is that when faced with an uncertain future of a self-employed career, many people struggle with the fear and shock of no longer being an ‘employee.’ Secondly, it takes a few months for agents to close their first deal, and by that time, many quit before they begin thanks to self-doubt and discouragement. Heather is working to reduce that rate through her school. In her test prep, she tries to inspire determination in all her students. She stresses the importance of surrounding yourself with like-minded, reliable people, as real estate is all about having a team. This is the American dream, t

Craig Whiting is one of the owners of Prime Real Estate Experts. He has a master’s degree in real estate development as well as years of experience that allow him to provide superior service to his clients. Craig lives by the Japanese proverb, “Fall down seven times, stand up eight.” Despite the difficult times, he was in, he knew that the opportunity to succeed in entrepreneurship was still there. As long as he kept standing up, he would never fail. The days when he had the desire to give up and stay in bed were the moments that defined Craig as a person. His secret to compelling himself forward was gratitude. Even at his lowest, Craig would number the good things in his life, such as his family, his house, and the food they ate. This practice helped him see the small successes he had every day.
