Secret Hater Friends, Putting Labels on People and Ditching Perfectionism
58m · Published160: In this episode, Allison and Ceara have a casual chat about various topics. They discuss baking pumpkin bars, their experiences with Airbnb, their fitness routines, and their plans for the future. Ceara catches up about attending the Eli Rallo “I Didn’t Know I Needed This” live book tour/show and being asked to co-host a segment on stage. She also talks about a recent Galentine's Day party. Allison talks about her upcoming trip to Tulum and an update on her sobriety journey.
The conversation then shifts to a discussion on friendship advice on TikTok and the concept of secret hater friends. They end the episode by discussing the etiquette of birthday dinners. In this conversation, the hosts discuss various topics including splitting the bill, drinking and sobriety, letting go of labels, and ditching perfectionism.
TAKEAWAYS:
- Baking can be a fun and comforting activity, and it's convenient to have homemade snacks on hand.
- Hosting an Airbnb can be a rewarding experience and an opportunity for personal growth.
- Having a fitness routine that combines different types of workouts can lead to better results.
- Not all friendship advice on social media is accurate or applicable to every situation.
- It's important to have realistic expectations of friends and not rely solely on social media validation.
- The etiquette of who pays for a birthday dinner can vary, but it's generally the responsibility of the person who invited everyone to pay. Consider the financial situation of your friends when planning events and splitting the bill.
- Sobriety is a personal journey and it's important to find a balance that works for you.
- Don't let labels restrict you and be open to evolving and changing.
- Take advantage of opportunities to travel and have fun, even if they may not align with your usual budget.

Pursuing Your Career Goals While Maintaining Health and Happiness with Sam Noddle
1h 17m · PublishedContinuing on with our wellness series, we’ve brought on our good friend (and place maker) Sam Noddle to talk about his career in real estate and recently, entrepreneurship. We dive deep into how Sam has been able to balance frequent traveling and the pressure of large-scale projects with his own physical, mental and spiritual health.
We talk about the importance of putting yourself out there, overcoming setbacks, developing a consistent morning routine and defining your personal workplace values. He shares helpful advice for advancing in your career such as finding mentors, turning small talk into real talk and the importance of asking questions.
Sam began his real estate career with the Comras Company in Miami, Florida where he had the opportunity to work on the iconic CocoWalk and various other properties throughout Coconut Grove, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Wynwood, The Miami River and Downtown.
He is now the Vice President of Leasing at Noddle Co. While no two days ever look the same for Sam, his main duties involve overseeing the development of Aksarben Village. He leads a large team of employees across multiple bars, restaurants, and the Inner Rail Food Hall.
Occupational wellness is the dimension of wellness that emphasizes the importance of finding personal satisfaction and enrichment in one's work, contributing to a positive work-life balance, and fostering a sense of purpose and fulfillment in one's professional endeavors.

Home Health, Clutter Clearing and Space Alchemy with Ansley Emerson
52m · PublishedWe are delighted to bring on Ansley Emerson for our deep dive into environmental wellness. This year, we are focusing on environmental wellness through the lens of our physical home space and our spiritual inner space. We thought this conversation was an especially important one to have in January when colder temperatures cause us to be inside more.
Ansley is a space alchemist, which is the art of intentionally transforming your internal and external space in order to create your most authentic, fulfilling and free life. She has created powerful space alchemist modalities that she learned through integrating these practices in her own life such as when she manifested and took aligned action towards finding her dream home on Maui at an incredible location, in her budget, with a lot of space and from a local owner.
We talk about energy clearing, clutter clearing, physically cleaning and intuitive feng shui. She shares how a home can be a mirror that reflects what is going on inside of us; as our relationship to physical spaces can show patterns present in other areas of our lives such as people pleasing tendencies or holding on to the past in a way that doesn't serve us anymore.
Regardless of your living situation, Ansley encourages us to invest in home health. She emphasizes the importance of creating your unique home sanctuary as a strong foundation so you are able to thrive in other areas of your life that align with your goals and needs. You don’t need to wait until you have a "forever home.”
ABOUT ANSLEY:
Ansley is formally certified as an Integrative Holistic Health Coach (IIN HCTP) and Certified Clutter Coach (Linn Method for Clutter Clearing™). She is an experienced practitioner in the fields of yoga, meditation, breathwork, energy clearing, universal energetics, EFT tapping, human design, emotional alchemy and Feng Shui. Ansley coaches her clients to create a healthy home as a foundation so they feel like they're swimming upstream with life, not fighting against the current. You can work with her in a single 1:1 session, over a period of 3 to 6 months, take her free masterclass or through her $333 online course.

2024 Wellness Series Kick-Off: What We Learned from Last Year's Goals to Guide a Healthier Year
1h 1m · PublishedWe are so excited to kick off the first episode of 2024 with the second season of our wellness series. If you were with us last year, welcome back! We’re happy to have you and can’t wait to bring on more guests who can share their unique perspectives on each dimension.
If you’re new here, check out our 2023 kick off episode “Self-Care Series: The 8 Dimensions of Wellness” that dives deep into each dimension. The dimensions wellness are (according to Dr. Peggy Swarbrick) emotional & mental, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational (career), social, physical and spiritual.
Now that we’ve been aware and practicing this concept for over a year, it has allowed us to look at our own wellness journeys with this lens as a guiding light for creating balance, joy, abundance, nourishment, sustainable routines and greater opportunities. While we are far from experts, or where we want to be ourselves, we hope that by sharing our stories and ideas on the concept, it might inspire and help shape your goals for the year ahead. Either way, we’re grateful you’re here with us!

51m · PublishedBefore kicking off the new year, we highly encourage you to reflect on this year’s progress, experiences, highs and lows. We did an episode last year, December 2022, called “How To Reflect on Your Goals” if you want to listen as we share our progress for going through your year from a balanced and wellness-minded lens.
Goals are way more fun with friends so we’re here to encourage you to find accountability buddies, be realistic about where you are, set aligned goals, create systems that will allow you to achieve your dreams and to change your mindset. It’s easy to make excuses that the reason other people are achieving their dreams and you aren’t is because they have certain resources, money and genetics that you don’t. Yes we all start from different places but if you keep making excuses, you’re going to continue being stuck.
We talk about finding the balance between having discipline for the hard stuff while also giving yourself grace and allowing for rest along the way so that in the long run you create sustainable healthy habits and don’t get burned out.
“Discipline is the bridge between your reality and your dream life.”
In January, we will be hosting a virtual goal setting workshop every Sunday in our Patreon group ($5/month). We recommend using the next few weeks to hone in on your goals and the why behind them, then you can share with the group!
