How To Improve Your Financial Wellness with Erin Confortini
1h 7m · PublishedFinancial wellness is the ability to meet basic needs and manage money in both the short and long term. We know money can be a stressful topic so we wanted to make this conversation approachable and relatable.
We wanted to bring on a guest that lives a similar lifestyle to most of us - loves to shop, travel, buy $8 lattes, live in a cute place and hang out with friends but has also found a way to prioritize saving, investing and planning for their future. We connected with Erin via social media. She works full-time as an auditor but is also a content creator on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube where she transparently shares her weekly spending, finance tips, budgeting tips and resources with her 200k+ community.
In this episode, Erin shares her story how she has been able to learn financial literacy, create a budget for herself, live within her means and contribute to her long term goals. We dive into the topics of good and bad debt, saving strategies, bank accounts, credit cards, emergency funds and ways to improve one’s financial situation. Erin says to her, “financial wellness means setting up my life so that money is no longer a stresser nor the main driver in decision making day-to-day.”

Social Wellness, Belonging and Building A Social Safety Net with Dr. Chelsea Shields (Part 1)
1h 10m · PublishedIn continuation of our ‘8 Dimensions of Wellness Series,’ we are honored to bring on Dr. Chelsea Shields who is an award-winning anthropologist, founder of Brandthropologie, a research and strategy consulting business, and multi-time TED fellow, speaker, and speaking coach.
Dr. Shields thinks about social wellness in terms of a safety net. An intricate weaving of people in our community who we depend on. As people start making more money and as technology becomes more prevalent, people start hiring out social roles that they used to have to accommodate for. It’s crucial to our well-being to foster relationships on a very real intimate level. She suggests having 5-6 close quality friends that you can lean on in times of need, as well about 15-25 close acquaintances. She explains that if you don’t have this quality safety net then events like divorce, death and bad accidents can cause more suffering than they would have otherwise.
“Invest in the people that give you reciprocity.”
“I think our generation is missing multigenerational relationships.”
“People understand emotions before they understand logic.”
“Social pain is pain. It’s the same neural pathways as physical pain.”
“Routines are what keeps things the same. Rituals are what makes things different.”
