H & H Processing - Getting Back to Nature!

37m · Published 13 Oct 19:42

Imagine the early days of Oklahoma, the black gold rush. OIL. Finding oil in Oklahoma set the stage for what was then a "new" state in the union to become a powerhouse in the growing oil economy. The Hallum family was at the forefront of that oil boom in Oklahoma. Now though, two of the Hallum family members, Brian and Amber, are processing a different type of oil; its called FECO - Full Extract Cannabis Oil. And the Hallums believe it can be another type of oil rush for Oklahoma. But THIS oil rush is one that offers healing, hope and happiness in the form of physical and emotional relief. While our founding fathers (and mothers) used the cannabis plant for textiles, paper and a whole host of beneficial products, the modern era saw the plant being labeled as a dangerous drug, a toxic weed, not fit for anything. Hallum and Hallum Processing has been at the forefront of this re-discovery of the benefits of cannabis oil, and their experiences have taken them all around the nation and now back to Oklahoma to bring a message of hope and healing. Their motto is ACE: Affordability, Compassion, Education.

Mark Fergeson - Fulcrum Hormone & Wellness Clinic in OKC

32m · Published 30 Jun 21:22

When Nurse Practitioner Mark Fergeson severely damaged his knee during a trip to Colorado to help his son return home from college, he KNEW he would have plenty of time to think about family and work.  And that's just what he did - while continuing to work. During a rare slow moment at his typically busy night shift in the Emergency Room of a major OKC hospital, Mark began thinking about his family, their medical needs and the community around him. He knew there was a need in OKC for a safe and non-judgmental clinic that provided hormonal treatments for men, women and transgender patients. He thought about how his son had not been well-served with his hormonal needs, and that began his quest to find the perfect safe medical place. He couldn't find it. So he and his wife, along with contributions from extended family, decided that THEY would create a medical clinic that would serve the Oklahoma community. Along the way, a pandemic happened, their practice grew, and they went beyond hormonal treatments when they found a huge need in the PANS and PANDAS community. Listen in as Mark discusses their family, their search for safe treatments, and how autoimmune diseases have now become such a huge part of the service at Fulcrum Hormone & Wellness Clinic.

Plant Medicines and Transformation - a Conversation with 2 OKC leaders

50m · Published 14 Jun 22:58

Leticia Pizano of One Spirit Native American Church & Tiffany Stuhr of Two Pillars Foundation Church, both in the Oklahoma City area - join together to bring us an educational chat about plant medicine and transformation.

Just a hundred years ago, plants were the only medicines available for treating the mind, body and spirit. In our modern world, the medical community relies heavily on created pharmaceuticals instead. These drugs are often effective because they try to mimic or maximize the effect from a plant. But all too often, we hear of side effects from lab-created drugs that are damaging to the body and might even be seen as worse than the original issue. When you add in the stresses of modern life and the increased reports of anxiety, depression and PTSD, you wonder if there can even be a lab-created medicine strong enough to really help.

SO, what about going back to the beginnings of medicine, the plant beginnings?  This is what Leticia and Tiffany will discuss. Listen in as we talk about healing and transformation with plants.

Sisters AND Doctors, dedicated to helping each other and their patients.

41m · Published 04 Mar 19:34

Dr. Kristen Garrett and Dr. Kelsey Smith grew up knowing they wanted to make a difference in other people's lives. As sisters, they have had a lasting, loving influence on each other. Who knew they would head in the same professional direction for their undergraduate and their doctoral degrees? They knew! Love and laughter unites them, and gives them both an exceptionally kind touch when it comes to their chiropractic patients. Both sisters graduated with degrees that focused on nutrition. They went from eating fast food several times a week while they were growing up to becoming immersed in organic and healthier options for families. When Dr. Kristen graduated with her doctorate in Chiropractic, Dr. Kelsey felt led to follow in those footsteps, too. Eventually, Dr. Kristen met and married Dr. John Garrett and they started a family.  Dr. John is a dentist, and with Dr. Kristen's influence they opened a biological dentistry clinic. As the office manager, Dr. Kristen's knowledge of holistic practices and her community connections, are there to support Dr. John as he takes care of his patients. When Dr. Kelsey moved back to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to continue serving her chiropractic patients, it was a reunion of the two sisters that has led to more healing and family happiness for them and their patients.

Proud To Serve - with Dr. Audrey May-Jones

31m · Published 19 Jan 06:06

Dr. Audrey May-Jones served her country and now she is serving her patients.  She is a DDS, a dentist, but she specializes in "Holistic" or "Biological" Dentistry.  Often, in the holistic community we think of the organic foods we eat, the products we choose to purchase, and the plastic we choose to reduce, reuse and recycle.  But, we might NOT think about our mouth as a part of the holistic picture.  Dr. May-Jones assures us that it absolutely is.  We cannot think of whole-body health without including oral health as a huge part of that, too.  Listen in as we have a great discussion about the mouth, mercury fillings and how the body impacts overall health.

Have you ever had someone say that they have been to every doctor and had every test, but that they still did not know what was wrong? Maybe there was a need for something MORE?  Maybe there was a need for complimentary therapies, maybe something that could bridge the gap between traditional Western medicine and natural remedies?

AND he believes in bringing Western medical traditions and evidence-based natural therapies and remedies together.  This is the goal of Integrative Medicine!! It combines the best of both worlds.  Dr. Rothwell talks of building bridges between medical professionals, both new and old, traditional and natural.  Listen in on this fascinating conversation!

A Walk On The Beach!

8m · Published 14 Aug 04:12

Today's conversation is about healing and connection.  This is a one-sided conversation because today, I am leading you on a solitary journey.  This is a guided meditation that might be able to help you heal old wounds.  Many guided meditations are focused on relaxation, but this one is more about self-healing and connectedness: mind-body, spirit-psyche, past-present.

When those connections start happening, for some people, it can be a little disorienting.  In the next few minutes, you are going to gain access to some of your deepest emotions.  You might find that you are emotionally sensitive when finished.  It can be very cathartic!  This meditation, for me, is like listening to certain pieces of music or viewing certain pieces of art: the beauty can make you weep.  Make sure you have time and space to reflect afterwards!

I LOVE this meditation.  This is my personal favorite healing piece.  As a trauma survivor, I have used this to help heal my own heart.  You might choose to have a pen and paper close by so you can write down the messages and ideas that are given to you.  Opening up your heart and healing old wounds is sometimes scary and sometimes painful.  But you are stronger than you know!

The 10-Minute Power Nap!

8m · Published 14 Aug 03:53

Today's conversation is all about relaxation.  This is a one-sided conversation because today, I am leading you on a solitary journey.  This is a guided meditation that is great for deep relaxation during the day.  It is really more of a re-charge, or a re-set for when you are having a stressful day.  You are going to become deeply relaxed, so you might want to set an alarm in case you fall asleep!

I LOVE this meditation.  I wrote this at a time when I did not have time to nap, but I sure needed to.  I was a busy mom with a very sick child. For me, this meditation became more restful than a nap, and I felt ready to handle the next medical emergency.  I have used this meditation for more than 20 years, and I hope that it brings you some needed stress relief, too!  Get ready for a 10-Minute Power Nap!
