by Heather E Wilson

GINSPIRED is a podcast where we talk about and celebrate everything about the wonderful juniper-laced spirit called GIN! There is SO much to talk about when it comes to gin – and we are going to dive into all of it in future episodes. I’ll be speaking to guests from around the world including gin and mixer experts, distilleries, gin fans, and bartenders. In every episode, my guests and I will be sharing what we're drinking as well as fun GINcident stories. I hope you will join me on this GINspired journey.

Sipping Gin at Kinsip, with special guest Maria Hristova

29m · Published 22 Jul 19:00

On today’s episode, I welcome Maria Hristova, Co-Owner of Kinsip House of Fine Spirits, located in the heart of Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. Today we chat about her journey to becoming a distillery owner, the story behind Kinsip and their farm based philosophy, their products, and of course a fun gincident or two (and there may be a mention of chickens too).

About Kinsip House of Fine Spirits
Kinsip House of Fine Spirits is a farm-based grain-to-glass distillery in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. Kinsip is rooted in an appreciation of family and the fulfillment found in building community. We craft products together that reflect and accentuate the quality of the moment. Life is worthy of celebrating the small moments as well as the grand.

Our craft distillery is located on a beautiful 80-acre farm. Our handcrafted spirits are produced entirely on-site in small batches using a custom-made copper still. Our tasting room is in the historic Cooper-Norton house. This ornate second empire house was built in 1874 by a wealthy Hops grower, Bert Cooper, during the County’s Barley Days. The Hops barn beside the house remains intact with its drying floors and brick ovens. Visit us to experience the craft and the history at our farm distillery in Prince Edward County.

About Charlie Bredo and Troubled Monk
Charlie is the President of Troubled Monk, located in Red Deer, Alberta. Starting as a brewery on June 12, 2015, they've built on their beer-making roots also to make Ready To Drink (RTDs), soda, vodka, gin, and whisky!
About Epitaph Blue Gin
Epitaph Blue Gin, a gold-medal winner at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, was born from the creativity and passion of the team at Troubled Monk.
Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and inspired to excel, the Troubled Monk family assessed what it had established, and in 2016 strove for more.
Being craft enthusiasts, they were inspired to expand beyond beer and explore sophistication through the art of gin distillation.
A distillery was considered for the creation of a new and exciting premium gin and the answer was clear: Why not try it? Why not take a leap and explore the next adventure? Tell more stories with great craft beverages. Epitaph was born to continue the storytelling tradition that embodies Troubled Monks mission of inspiring others through our craft.
