When I first came across Shobia's instagram post on the Fair and Lovely controversy, I immediately was drawn. The reason why was because as a child I grew up being embarrassed about my skin tone. Our Eurocentric society kept telling me that my dark skin was not beautiful. Shobia championed away and addressed this head on, and created a post and petition that went viral!! On today's episode she talks about her journey through this form of activism, and the importance of speaking up and pushing for change against colourism!
