Truth be Told

Truth be Told we all need a reminder to keep moving forward. Chase after your dreams no matter how big they are. We're bound to feel defeated. It's what we do in those moments that makes us who we are.

Truth be told marriage isn't easy especially when your young. In the episode I reflect on my marriage after our seven year anniversary. I'm no expert but these seven lessons learned can move mountains in any relationship. After getting married at 20 years old to my high school sweetheart, I picked up a few things here and there!

For Mental Health Awareness month I am encouraging us to break the stigma associated with mental health disorders in the black community. I am also bringing attention to some of the  challenges we face. Truth be told mental health is not a sign of weakness, and it does not discriminate based on skin color. First we need to recognize mental illness as an “illness,” like cancer, or diabetes  because it is just that..

For the first few days or so, you are driven by your motivation to meet your goal you are going in working on your new passion every single day. But then you gradually start skipping your practice. A day here. A day there. Few days here few days there ... Before you know it,  the cycle begins all over again.

This is how it is  for most of us right?  Our lack of consistency can be incredibly frustrating. In this episode I'll give you a few tips on  consistency. 

Going into year 27 I feel free, it has been eye opening in so many ways. I feel connected with the skin I’m in. My mind feels in tune with who I am now and who I want to become. I’ve finally owned my passions my beliefs both inwardly and outwardly I’m more than just here I can say I’m living in what God has for me.

I’m going into this year not only reflecting but most importantly accepting my past, present, and future. It’s amazing to see the benefit of quieting your mind and just accepting it all. Taking it in, soaking it in, is sometimes the best way to learn.
