081: Setting Teacher Goals with the PowerSheets Planner
39m · PublishedI believe, so deeply, in the power of goals. And not just your typical new year's resolution type goals. But goals that actually help you accomplish the things you want to look back on in 20, 30, even 40 years and say "that helped me get here."
Teachers care A LOT about their students. As educators, we want to do everything we can to provide the absolute best opportunities for our students. That means teachers are constantly putting themselves on the back burner. And you know what happens to the food on the back burner? The things we forget about? They burn! That is why I think it is crucial we practice setting teacher goals for ourselves, personally and professionally.

079: My Biggest Mistake with Work-Life Balance and How You Can Avoid It
21m · PublishedWhen I started out in the classroom, I didn't have a good handle on work-life balance. In fact, when I left the classroom in 2018 to move abroad I have up more than 20 days of paid leave. That's why I am so passionate about talking with people about work-life balance for teachers. It is crucial educators have a plan in place to manage their time, practice self-care, and achieve "balance."
