April 2020 is a crazy time, y'all! Who thought 2020 would be the year of a global pandemic, social distancing, and canceling school?!? All of us are teaching from home right now and it can be a little difficult to find the motivation to do more than sit on the couch and eat chips all day.

When it comes to working from home, I wouldn’t say I am an expert, but I have been doing it for over a year now and it has been trial and error, for sure. But I have found some things are a must when it comes to working in the same place you live. Let's chat about what those things are and how you can make the most of your time at home.

063: 5 Ways to Incorporate Hygge in the Classroom

25m · Published 19 Nov 11:00

Hygge is a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture). This podcast is inspired by my recent trip to Denmark and all that I learned about the hygge culture. If you want to find some ways to make your classroom feel warm and cozy, then this episode is for you!

062: Lesson Planning Live Coaching Session

24m · Published 12 Nov 11:00

You are listening to the final installment of the live coaching session with Jordan. Jordan is well into her second year of teaching and was a lucky winner of the free coaching session after purchasing the Kickstart Your School Year Course. We talked about her classroom organization needs back in episode 56 and her classroom management plans in episode 59. Today we will wrap up the session talking about ways to improve her lesson planning routine. I recommend making some time to listen to episode 56 and 59. They both have "live coaching session" in the title so you will know they go together.

061: The How and Why to Implement a Classroom Economy with Thom Gibson

1h 1m · Published 05 Nov 11:00

Today I am chatting with Thom, who is a secondary teacher at a private school in downtown Austin, Texas. He teaches some seriously cool classes. Even though I don’t teach in the setting he teaches in (and I’m assuming a lot of you don’t either) I still had a ton of ideas of how I could implement this classroom economy and his techy ideas into my own classroom.
