Many people have fear around this topic and many completely skip the conversation with their kids and it is such an important topic and we as adults must plan, we must make a change and not rely on the school system to teach our kids about their bodies.

Hello! I am the author of The Birthday Suit Books: Yearly Guides to Easily Teach Children Ages 1 to 9 About Their Body and Sex, with Book 2 for older kids ages 10-18 coming in a few months.

In these powerful books I clearly teach parent how, when, and what to say as they approach teaching all the difficult topics such as anatomy, sex, fertilization, pregnancy and delivery, safety, and more. Parents can easily follow the lesson plan each year for ages 1 to 9 — Book 2 covers ages 10 to 18 — and take in all the advice from the 126 parents that were interviewed. The process is simplified, and I help every step of the way with resources, guided discussions, prompts and activities so parents can teach their child without fear of feeling awkward or unprepared.

As a bonus benefit, these yearly “birthday suit talks” encourage open and honest communication and children feel safer coming to their parents with personal questions. The lessons include the facts and only the facts—so each family can apply their own religious, political, and family values. Using appropriate lessons for their age with simple anatomy drawings that highlight many ages and ethnicities, The Birthday Suit Books give parents the confidence to teach their child to understand and appreciate their body. The Birthday Suit Books will strengthen family bonds and amend generations of shame and embarrassment about our body—our greatest gift—into one of admiration and respect.

Here’s a few more areas of my life I’m willing to talk about:

After teaching High School Health, I also created My Beauty Campaign as a way to learn to love myself again after having children. I had photographers all over the world offering “Beauty Sessions” for women to build their self confidence and begin to truly believe they are beautiful through a photographic experience. After the twins arrived, Mandi changed her focus from the campaign and her photography business to raising her 8 children under the age of 5.

I’m also open to talking about my marriage to my best friend. We are such a great team and our story is quite interesting. My husband is also the Bishop and being a bishops wife is not a title I ever thought I would have. I’ve also played volleyball in just about every capacity. From Collegiately at BYU, to beach, reffing, high school head coach, and now a parent of players. I have plenty to share about parents of athletes too!

In 2019, Mandi had her hardest year of her life. After years of playing beach volleyball in the sun, she randomly found 2 large areas of skin cancer and had 2 spots removed the size of a quarter, and a nickel taken out of her face. The day her stitches were removed, she discovered her 2 year old twin daughter had retinoblastoma. Jules has been sedated 22 times in a year and a half in her miraculous fight against her cancer. Her story is one of faith, and an absolute miracle. Each time her doctors see her, they say her case is not biologically explainable. They use the words “truly remarkable.”

Today on Strong Business Stronger Marriage we are joined by Tyler Foley.  Tyler  retired from his first career after 20 year of performing as an actor.  The retired came at the young age of 25.  Since then he has learned the art of communication with his wife as he has built his business over the last six years.

One way that Tyler embodies the Strong Business Stronger Marriage lifestyle you can see in the following quote from this weeks episode;

"anytime I have an idea, she's the first one I bounce it off of because she comes up with all of the, this is why it will work and this is why it won't work. And then it's my job to come up with solutions for the why it won't. In my way with my other team, other people that I work with and get the input from there.

And then I present the final plan to her and say, okay, this is the plan that I've come up with. If I implement this, if I drop this domino, what other consequences can come from this cascade? And then she does the final look over. And if I've satisfied, her curiosity. And if I've satisfied her need for answers, then I know that the idea can go forward because at that point, I've consulted her twice calmed her concerns and come up with a plan that make sense to both me and her."

Also take note of the phrase YES AND... listen in to Tyler's story of why you should never close the door and if we can all start with yes and then the communication for people on both sides of the conversation or relationship will be able to get exactly what they need.
