As a Black woman, have you ever felt that your hair is a big topic of conversation? Or did you think that you had to “look a certain way” to be seen as professional or acceptable? If so, please join the U of M Counseling Center Interns for our live podcast on Black Women’s hair and professionalism. We will be discussing:
• Experiences of macro- and microaggressions in professional spaces regarding Black hair.
• The pressure to conform to conventional beauty standards.
• Ideals and expectations of our hair.
• How we have established ourselves as professional Black women.
In addition, we will also be taking questions from the audience as a part of the discussion!
