{E44} Turning a Career into a Mission Statement (with Sulaiman Sibai)

35m · Published 31 Jan 12:30

Ever watched something on the news and felt a pull to move mountains in an effort to help those being broadcasted? Me too!

Founder of Verse Stories, Sulaiman Sibai, didn't stop at the pull though, he went further. And so today, he shares the mission behind the creation of a news channel whose sole purpose is to provide a platform for anyone in the world to support those in need of help.

What first started as an ache to help those in need soon became a mission. And who of us have had that ache in our hearts after a news story and just let that ache pass out of not knowing what else to do?

Here’s your chance to listen to someone who took that and made something out of it!

{E43} Loving Heart - Yoga Class

23m · Published 27 Jan 12:30

Being the first class of the year, I thought it'd be great to set an intention in the form of a colour for the next few months.

In today's practice, we'll be moving into our heart. Really slowing things down to set the intention for our actions. Asking yourself, what do I want to feel and how can I cultivate this feeling more often?

As we move in and out through our flow, be mindful of each movement. Really listen to the positioning of your body. If you'd like a visual, I'll be uploading a downloadable pdf really soon for you - or keep in touch on Facebook and Instagram for a LIVE class.

Put your heart into it!

{E42} Anxiety & Mindfulness (with Dr. Nicole LePera)

36m · Published 22 Nov 20:00

Anxiety, they say, is you living in the future. Depression, is you living in the past. What if there was a middle ground between the two and you lived in that?

Dr. Nicole LePera is a psychologist in Philadelphia that views mental and physical struggles from a whole person perspective. She understands that balance is an integral part of wellness and empowers her patients to heal themselves, supporting them on their wellness journeys by identifying the underlying physical and emotional causes they carry.

In this episode, you'll hear:
how mindfulness practices brought her relief
her personal story with anxiety and panic attacks
the connection between the systems in the body (and how when one gets out of whack, they all feel the impact)
self-awareness and noticing your emotions - rather than react with emotion
the number 1 thing you can do right now to start to positively influence your well-being - and anxiety

{E41} Stand Up for Your Gut - Mindset Realign

9m · Published 12 Nov 20:31

We've all been there, gutted from accepting an offer we really didn't feel right (or comfortable!) with in the first place.

But if your gut spoke up, why didn't you??

This is the topic for today's Mindset Realign episode and a short story I share with you on how I overcame this endless loop - it really only takes one thing.

I hope it resonates with you and you take a little something you can put into practice right away.

{E40} Built Up Emotions - Yoga Class

24m · Published 12 Nov 06:05

You know those days when you feel a little low but have no idea why?

Maybe you woke up that way, had a dream about a loved one, or possibly even just the weather triggered some built up emotion you didn’t realize you hadn’t dealt with.

This 20 minute practice is meant to let yourself MOVE and RELEASE.

For those moments when you can't seem to get a grasp on the stream of emotions that flood through you, grab your mat and let’s start moving.

Release the tension these emotions have locked in your muscles and, hopefully, allow yourself to feel a little lighter.

This practice starts with a short breathing exercise you can incorporate at any time - be sure to add it to your toolbox!

Download the follow-along printable right here.

{E39} Applying a Growth Mindset (with Cedric Andrew)

37m · Published 08 Nov 12:30

Ever found yourself wondering how and why things in your life have stalled and whether there's anything you can do about it without breaking the bank?

Most of us go into trouble shooting mode by thinking about the resources we need to come up with to take us out of a situation BUT, what if we could make strides just by looking at our way of thinking - would you believe me??

Today's guest has implemented a growth mindset into his life and has noticed himself shift - and his inner circle have noticed the same in him.

From job-to-job to entrepreneurship, it took a desire to make things happen and a commitment to this way of thinking that has given him the chance to see opportunities and say good-bye to others.

Be sure to take notes and apply what he shares. Cedric has kindly opened up to us to share his hiccups and how he sees them - plus he invites you to see them the same way.

I'd love to hear what most resonated with you over on Instagram - and be sure to stop by his profile as well @cedric.andrew16

{E38} A Mantra for the Monkey Mind - Mindset Realign

7m · Published 05 Nov 12:30

When times are tough or a day is just too hectic, taking deep breaths may be the last thing on your mind - though SO beneficial.

But, what if there was a quick reminder (right from your breath) that could tune you back into being grounded?

This mantra is a simple one to remember and one you carry with you at all times, you just need to be made aware of it.

Listen to this 5 minute episode and begin using the repetition of the mantra for 5 minutes as you increase to 10, 20, 30 minutes.

As always, I'd LOVE to see you implementing the tools given in any of the episodes you've connected with. Be sure to share them with me for a chance to be highlighted (@daisyjeys).

{E37} Bedtime Flow - Yoga Class

21m · Published 28 Oct 11:30

Get your body and thoughts ready for bed with this short 15 minute Bedtime Flow. All you'll need are blocks (maybe), they're not necessary but if you have them, bring them out.

Keep your breath as your focus - more than usual, as your breath can be used as a meditative tool to really get you into the cover of night.

As usual, you have the option of downloading the follow-along printable and music playlist right here.

Have you taken this into your body already? Let me know how you incorporated it into you day @daisyjeys.

{E36} Making the Life Laid Out for Her Work On Her Terms (with Kayla Goldstein)

51m · Published 25 Oct 11:30

Finding the power to be confident in her own skin and pursuing answers to questions that were never supposed to be asked is something worth celebrating. Specially when going with the flow just never felt genuine to her.

Today’s guest is Kayla Goldstein, an interior designer who had given up on her life after giving birth to her second child. With a lot of resentment for the life that was laid out for her she decided to start giving voice to her questions around the religion she was born into and from there a lot of things changed - including the relationship with her husband.

I look forward to seeing your take aways from our conversation by tagging me @daisyjeys on Instagram.

Be sure to give Kayla some love on Instagram @DesigningYourDream and hey, if you're looking for a redo in your home, sit for a consult with her.
