Our special guest is Nick Motycka, a former police officer with over 17 years of experience. Nick has a mission to help people heal from trauma through his special hemp organic cotton clothing line. During the episode, Nick talks openly about his own experiences seeking psychological support and how tough situations can take a toll on a person. Nick's honesty shows just how important it is for police officers to get mental health support.

But the story doesn't end there. Nick also shares his own journey of healing, which started with being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We'll learn how Nick tried out different methods like using psilocybin (magic mushrooms) to deal with deep hurts and learn to be kinder to himself.

As we follow Nick's story, we'll also learn about his decision to leave policing and try something new. We'll hear about the challenges he faced when starting his own clothing business in the fashion industry while dealing with big changes in his personal and professional life. Finally, Nick talks about how important it is to have good intentions, follow your instincts, and build a life that matches your values.

Rachel's personal experience with judgment and struggles with medication withdrawal gave her empathy for others facing similar challenges. While not against medication, Rachel strongly believes in addressing the root causes of issues rather than solely relying on it.

Rachel delves into the limitations of Western medicine, highlighting how it often diagnoses based on symptom clusters without considering other important factors such as diet, lifestyle, and relationships. She emphasizes that depression can stem from various root causes, including gut health, hormone imbalances, deficiencies in vitamins and fatty acids, and exposure to toxins.

Rachel shares her experience with functional medicine, a revolutionary approach that focuses on a person's lifestyle and conducts proper testing to identify underlying imbalances and stressors. She stresses the interconnectedness of body systems and the need for a holistic view of health rather than relying solely on medication.

Rachel candidly discusses her journey of trying to come off antidepressant medication and the challenges she faced, including panic attacks, anxiety, and difficulty functioning. The conversation takes a deep dive into the impact of mental health, gut health, and muscle mass on overall well-being. Rachel shares her personal struggles with anxiety, her discoveries about the connection between diet and anxiety levels, and the healing power of addressing gut health.
