S2 E4 - Co-Stanza

30m · Published 04 Mar 00:00

Created and developed in the picture-perfect suburbs west of Chicago, Co-Stanza is a pop music project by Jack Costanza with its roots in good vibes and midwest charm. Co-Stanza’s music primarily comes straight from Jack’s bedroom, plastered with old magazines and photos of friends all over the walls. Relying heavily on classic pop elements, Co-Stanza brings the attitude in punchy guitar work and vocals that incorporate hip-hop attitudes with the hooks of a pop singer.

Co-Stanza has recently released a new Acoustic EP called "Patch of Grass." Be sure to check it out with the links below:

S1 E10 - Phoebe Katis

9m · Published 26 Jun 15:00
After working on the 2014 feature film, "Kajaki," Phoebe Katis has launched off her career as a singer-songwriter in a fresh new way. Based in the U.K., Katis has two full-length albums that embody heartfelt stories and accentuate her jazz style through the way she sings and plays. Her most recent album, "It's Ok to Cry," features a group of humble, but compassionate songs encompassing her journey as an independent musician while delivering a level of transparency about her personal hardships.    Katis worked with Cory Wong, a profound guitar player from the sounds of Vulfpeck, on producing this album. The two had played previously side-by-side when Wong headlined a tour for his album, "Motivational Music for the Syncopated Soul."   Katis is donating all proceeds of her merch from her Bandcamp for the next month to "Black Minds Matter," a charity fund dedicated to making mental health topics relevant and accessible for all black people in the U.K.    With Katis' plans to move to Nashville, TN, it will be interesting to see how she will continue to work with the Wong crew and her other industry friends to target a new fanbase found within the states.   Find Out More About DormInform:   Website: https://myleshoffman.weebly.com/dorminform.html  Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6jhztaxs8QNiikoBR4HhgQ  Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dorminform/id1494982584 --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/dorminform/support

S1 E9 - R.LUM.R

6m · Published 29 May 15:00
Nashville-based pop-influenced R&B artist, R.LUM.R, has arisen to a status of popularity in record time. Previously a singer-songwriter playing classical guitar under his nickname Reggie Williams, R.LUM.R was amazed to see the arisen appeal his 2016 single, "Frustrated," which has now surpassed 50 million plays on Spotify alone. In November of 2019, R.LUM.R released his first album, "Surfacing," and has continued to grow attractive from the small Nashville R&B scene to several countries overseas. Since the rise of COVID-19, R.LUM.R, like many other artists, has stopped his remaining tour plans. Although his plans to conclude his album's first major tour came to a halt, R.LUM.R is looking forward to singing his heart out and connecting with fans at a later date. Meanwhile, R.LUM.R has been hard at work on both professional and personal content. For instance, R.LUM.R has enjoyed watching anime and playing video games for its sense of media culture and community. He demonstrates these same values on a professional level by interacting with his fans, friends, and collaborators on music topics.  R.LUM.R's music offers something for everyone. As an individual, R.LUM.R is thought-provoking and humble to his core. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/dorminform/support

Couch, originating in Boston, MA, is a soul-funk pop group that makes music for the "soul, mind, and booty!" Two singers, two horn players, and a tight rhythm section come together to deliver power tunes. Couch consists of college students from universities across the country, forcing the group to think creatively on how to record, mix, release, and promote each single they debut.  Their first single, I'm Leavin' (The Na-Na Song) released back in April of 2019. S1 E7 - Melt the Band

14m · Published 15 May 16:00
Melt the Band, a seven-piece rock, jazz fusion, soul band from NYC, have made their mark as a strong up-and-coming college band since the release of their first single, "Sour Candy," back in 2017 while they attended high school. Three years later, the group is still releasing content that blows minds, such as "Shy," their most recent professionally recorded single, and "Waves," a track recorded and produced while the group is separated in the comforts of their quarantined homes.  Veronica, as lead singer, has effortless control of her voice while the rest of the band provides an irresistible groove. The arrangements themselves have a way of turning heads. All seven members work together to find how to take their music to the next level, and with each new release, they continue to develop their fanbase and make even further social impact.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/dorminform/support

S1 E6 - Miles Monaco

10m · Published 08 May 13:00
During my time at Belmont University, it has become abundantly clear that campus is full of incredible musicians, artists, and groups that are all looking for a way to leave their mark on the industry. Miles Monaco, a dedicated producer currently attending Belmont, is no different. He has shown me as well as many other fans found on and off Belmont's campus that he has the skills as a producer, a creative, and a strategist to make a new kind of impact in his respective industries. But with this also comes Miles' high level of experimentation as he now journeys into sounds often found in alternative, pop, and lo-fi music. With his normal repertoire being a solo-producer, he has worked with various talents such as Mylky, NOIXES, and others. In this episode of DormInform, we dive into Miles Monaco's perceived impact on his listeners, his most recent single, "waste my time," his previous artist alias, and how he has been handling the national pandemic as a creator. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/dorminform/support
