In this episode, I got the chance to speak with Jay Thooft, a mental performance coach who has worked with a number of elite athletes and musicians. He talks about how he teaches his clients to cope with their negative emotions to reach peak performance, and he also gives tips for how we can apply these same principles in our day-to-day lives. So many people let their own self-defeating ideas and habits prevent them from attaining the life they desire. Unrealistic expectations, lack of motivation, and the lack of a powerful "why" are the most common ones. In this episode, I teamed up with Eric Brundidge, a fellow personal development podcaster, to dissect some of the limitations we have observed people place on themselves. The goal of this episode is to help the listeners become aware of how they may be the biggest obstacle to their success and how to overcome that. Tune in to learn more. There's a reason why major companies and professional sports teams are so selective about the people they bring into their organizations. Who you have on your team or in your organization has a direct effect on your trajectory. Most people don't realize that this plays out the same way in their personal life. We can have the greatest goals and the most noble missions, but if our inner circles don't have the capacity to help propel us there, they become a liability. Tune in to this episode of Himprovement to learn about the importance of crafting a team of friends that can support you in the pursuit of your mission.

While out promoting the podcast, a man I was sharing my mission with mentioned that it will be hard for a lot of guys to focus on developing their character, identity, and mindset if more pressing issues like their finances aren't in order. This episode is out of the usual scope of Himprovement, but sharing some tips for financial success could help college age young men, the second largest group of listeners I have, get into the right situation to help with their mindset and long term success. In this episode, my good friend and fellow finance graduate, Robby Porter helps me to share tips along with mistakes that we made while in school that will educate college age guys and help them to get a good financial start to their early 20s. In the future, it's possible that I will make an episode for listeners who aren't in school. There was an unusual amount of street noise and audio issues on my end this time, so please excuse the edits that you hear.

In this episode, I had the opportunity to interview Weston Boucher, a menswear designer, model, and men's self improvement youtuber. We discussed the importance of being healthy in all aspects of life, including mental health and the stigma behind it, along with having an identity rooted in internal values. We also touched on the importance of empathy and emotional intelligence when dealing with others. This episode ended up being much longer than others since these are topics that the two of us were passionate about. For anyone interested in the oil I referred to early in the episode, it's actually called "MCT oil". Listen to learn more. Watch on YouTube at : https://youtu.be/khV1MMGN8gI
